Slot Design

Legend of the Sword online slot has a bigger gameboard than the regular 5×3, consisting of 5 reels, 5 rows, and 3125 payways.

The game’s RTP is 96.12% and its variance is set to MEDIUM.

The minimum bet per spin of the slot is 0.20$ and the maximum bet per spin is 24.00$, making this game perfect for a wide range of players.

The design of the slot itself is nice with an animated background of an enchanted forest near a castle and the sword in the stone on the left side.

However in terms of menus, Snowborn have done a very poor job, especially for setting up your wager.

If you click on the wager menu, you would have to hold the left mouse button sling up or down a few times.

This is how you easily move the wager without too much clicking, but this you would find out once you play around a little bit and in no way comes intuitively to the player or anyone who’s seeing the slot for a first time.

We have reviewed other Snowborn Games slots and they have never picked that particular way of setting bets, so we are unsure, to what has made them pick such an odd method.

Slot Features

• Excalibur Scatter: Five or more Excalibur scatter symbols (which is the sword symbol) award a cash prize. These symbols pay in any position. The prizes are as follow: 5 symbols = 2x the bet, 6 symbols = 5x the bet, 7 symbols = 10x the bet, 8 symbols = 100x the bet, 9 symbols = 1000x the bet, 10 symbols = 10,000x the bet.

• Camelot Free Spins: Landing 3 Camelot Free Spins symbols will trigger this feature. The initial free spins given are 3 and they would be reset back to 3, if an Excalibur symbol lands, and the multiplier will be raised by one.

• Excalibur Collection: During the free spins, the meter will record how many Excalibur symbols have been collected and at the end of the feature will be paid out as a Excalibur scatter win. This gives a great opportunity for triggering a higher symbol count Excalibur win, as you get 3 or more spins.

• Multiplier Meter: This meter will show the multiplier that’s applied to the way wins during the free spins. This multiplier does not apply to the Excalibur scatter feature.

Verdict

Legend of the Sword is a nice online slot with a medieval theme, but has some flaws.

While the game offers a generous top prize of 10,000x the bet, and offers a 5×5 gameboard with 3125 payways, the free spins introduced here are just 3 respins, that can be reset by the Excalibur scatter.

Essentially it’s like a Link&Win™ feature, with the exception, that no blank positions are introduced.

In terms of game design and menus, Snowborn Games have chosen some really weird ways of setting your stake, which makes it confusing and hard to understand at first.

Overall the game is well worth your time, and could be given a chance for that sweet up to 240,000$ max win.
