This is another slot from the studios, from the Wild Surge series with high volatility and 5,000x max win.

Though the game is a few weeks away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino has it exclusively in their library, ahead of time.

Slot Design

Alpha Gods Zeus 2 Wild Surge has a 5×4 gameboard with 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.03%, the volatility is set to HIGH and the hit rate is 17.39%.

The minimum bet per spins starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, with the max win being capped at 5,000x.

The studio has decided to stick with this bet menu, despite the fact there’s space to just layout all available bets and remove these min bet, max bet, plus, minus buttons. Allows the player to simply select their desired wagers, and gets rid of extra unnecessary clicks.

The settings menu however has always been perfect, with 3 different spin options, separate options for music and sounds, plus volume adjusters.

• Wilds: The wilds in this game are the W symbols which substitute for all high and low paying symbols.

These symbols are pretty common, and they do contribute to some minor winnings, but the one you are after are the Wild Surge symbols.

• Wild Surge Feature: The Wild Surge features unlock every 50 spins until you unlock them all. The trail is displayed on top of the gameboard and includes perks like: rows convert to wilds 1-3 rows, reels convert to wilds 1-3, position respins, multipliers and more.

After 350 spins all perks are unlocked and available, as well as the Buy Feature. The Wild Surge perks are your biggest win contributor during base game. When you see the lightning symbol, that’s when the horizontal bar starts spinning and lands on one of the 9 perks.

• Jackpot Feature: One of the 4 jackpots can be won on the jackpot wheel. These are raising jackpots starting from their base value and go increase to a certain point: Mini 10x – 25x; Minor 25x – 100x; Major 250x – 500x; Mega 2,500x – 5,000x.

Once a jackpot is won, it will reset its value to base. In our case it was the Minor for a total of 49x. This feature is rare, but not to the point you will never see it.

• Lock’n’Win Feature: This is one of the 2 special features of this slot, with this one being the more lucrative one.

Unlike a Link&Win, this one does not reset the spins after a prize lands. Landing orbs in the red zone, spins the horizontal reel and grants one of the few perks: adds 2-3 additional spins, adds multipliers 2x – 100x, triggers jackpot feature, increases the orb values 1x-25x,collect all orbs.

• Free Spins: In this slot, landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 scatters triggers 8, 10, 12 or 15 free spins respectively. In addition a choice menu shows up where you can either take he free spins or pick Lock’n’Win with a better bonus with bronze at 2 scatter and diamond at 5 scatters.

While testing the slot, I did not see very much from the free spins, despite the fact Wilde Surge triggered more. The Lock’n’Win is hit or miss, but when it hits, it hits big.

• Bonus Wheel Feature: Once each reel lands a golden orb this feature triggers.

You can win a Lock’n’Win with different amount of spins and up zones. Of course you can gamble the outcome for even better reward, but be careful as you can end up with nothing.

• Buy Feature: After 350 spins the Buy Feature is unlocked, where the player can purchase various features or activate various perks.

For 2x the bet, you can activate Wild Surge frequency 2x. For 10x your total bet, the activation frequency becomes 15x.

The scatter prices are pretty steep starting from 50x for 2 scatters up to 150x for 5 scatters.

Verdict

Is Alpha Gods Zeus 2 Wild Surge worth your time? Yes, if you have to choose one of the Wild Surge slots, this is the one.

It has everything a player wants or needs, from 4 different raising jackpots, to 2 different features Free spins and Lock’n’Win.

In addition the Wild Surge feature makes base game as well as Free Spins very lucrative and entertaining as there’s always something happening in the game.

The only thing I disliked is the locked features that become fully unlocked after 350 spins, as well as some of the Buy Feature offers are pretty steep.
