Slot Design
Amazing Link Christmas online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.33%, slightly lower than the other Amazing Link slots, volatility is set to HIGH, and the hit rate is 28.74%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 50.00$, making the game ideal for any player.
SpinPlay Games have always used this layout in terms of adjusting your wager, and has been like this for years, though we’d like to see something more modern where the player can select the desired bet with a single click.
This little menu is nested in the casino chip on the left side of the gameboard, while the Quick Spin and Autoplay options are nested above the spin button on the right side.
The slot symbols and the overall design is nothing special, though in tune with the upcoming holidays, as the name of the slot suggests.
We wish there was more depth into the symbols and design, because at this point it seems like the studio is just doing reskin after reskin.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this game can substitute for all symbols but scatters and amazing link symbols.
The little elves will show up everywhere in this slot, and will help you complete winning combinations. In addition, there are several animations where the elves show up around the Christmas tree to put a star on it and other things. Expect to see them a lot during your spins.
- Amazing Link Feature: This is a Link&Win feature and triggers when you land 6 or more Amazing Link symbols. The triggering symbols are locked in place and the player receives 3 respins. Whenever a new Amazing Link symbol lands, the respins reset back to 3. The feature ends when the player does not land any symbols in 3 respins or fills the whole gameboard. If the whole gameboard is filled, the MEGA jackpot of 5,000x is awarded.
On our first trigger we managed to get a total of 13 gifts, but the cash values were pretty low, so the total payout came out to be only 26x, which is pretty low for a highly volatile slot.
- Pick Feature: This feature can randomly trigger after any spin, be that in base game or in Amazing Link. Matching 3 icons will award the corresponding jackpot.
The feature starts with a gameboard 4×3, and you would have to pick gifts until you get 3 matching icons.
At the end we only got the MINI jackpot which is 20x, but we had two MEGA symbols and two MINOR symbols, so could have been anything.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters, triggers 10 free spins. On each spin, one of the reels turns Amazing Wild, and will contain only Wilds. The Amazing Wilds can substitute for ALL symbols.
We managed to get a few decent wins thanks to the wilds, and our overall payout was 62.8x which wasn’t that bad for a first trigger. Be aware that this feature triggers quite rarely, probably around several hundred spins during our testing.
Verdict
Though Amazing Link Christmas is a reskin and alike most of the Amazing Link slots, we were pleasantly surprised by this one.
Perhaps because of the theme and the upcoming holidays, or perhaps because of the well picked music, there’s something about this slot.
For those who’ve played numerous Amazing Link slots, this one would offer nothing new, but if this is the first time you’ve tried one you will be delighted.
The game is scheduled to be released on December 7th 2023, in Yukon Gold Casino, and we expect it to be one of the most popular slots during December.
