Themed after the dwarf from the Norse mythology Andvari, the slot offers players an interesting adventure with lucrative prizes up to 10,000x the bet.

Andvari: The Magic Ring online slot has a slightly bigger gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 1024 paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.05%, though if the buy feature is used it lowers down to 96.01% which is an almost non-existent difference.

This is a volatile slot and its variance is set to HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 20.00$, making this slot ideal for those players looking for low wagering slots.

Foxium is one of those studios that has always had quality of life in mind, and their bet menu allows players to pick a bet with just one click.

The UI is very clean, the menus are well structured, all of the features are easily accessible and visible to the player.

On the left we have the Lock&Win™ prizes, up to 5,000x, the Buy Feature on the bottom, as well as the Quick Spin button on the top right and the Autoplay button below it.

The menu itself has only a splash screen option and a sound option, meaning the sound and music are bundled up and cannot be turned off separately.

Slot Features

• Lock&Win™ Feature: Landing 6 or more bonus symbols triggers this feature. All symbols are removed but bonus symbols and blank spaces. The triggering symbols are locked in place, while the rest of the positions respin. The feature starts with 3 respins, but for every new symbol that lands, the respins reset and the new symbols are also locked in place.

During the feature there are also 2 power up symbols you can land, the Multiplier Upgrade which upgrades all on screen prizes by up to 10x, and the Magic Prize upgrade, which ups the prizes on the left with 1 tier. The base value of the prizes are:

The upgrade symbols do not reset the spins, unless a bonus symbol with a prize also lands. Symbols with magic prizes can also land.

We had an upgrade symbol here, transforming the 50x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x and 5,000x prizes into 60x, 120x, 300x, 1,200x and 6,000x.

• Magic Wheel: Above the gameboard there’s a progress bar that gets filled by the bonus symbols, whether they are from base spins or the Lock&Win™ feature.

The wheel can award one of the magic prizes, cash prizes or free spins.

• Free Spins and Free Spins Wheel: Once the free spins are triggered, either by 3 scatters or the magic wheel, the Free Spins Wheel shows up.

Once the amount of spins have landed you have an option to start playing the free spins or gamble them for an upgrade or a mystery prize.

We landed 20 free spins and managed to retrigger them, which gave us a total of 40 free spins. During the feature we managed to trigger Lock&Win which also paid nicely.

At the end of the feature, we ended up with a 114x payout, but because of the high volatility this does not happen every time and we’ve had triggers with payouts of 5x.

• Gamble & Mystery Wheel: Once you have landed your free spins you have an option to gamble them for an upgrade or a cash prize.

We tried this feature several times, receiving free spin upgrades a couple of times, and a 15x mystery prize on one of our last triggers.

• Buy Feature: The buy feature offers players to purchase a Free Spins Wheel or a Magic Wheel for 55.02x or 33.24x respectively.

• Andvari symbol transformation: We did not see this mentioned anywhere in the game, but sometimes Andvari would randomly pop up when you have either landed 5 bonus symbols or 2 free spins scatters, and will transform 1 random symbol to trigger the feature that almost triggered.

He pops on the left, tosses a coin and transforms one symbol, in our case a random symbol into a bonus symbol, triggering the Lock&Win™. We had him also show up once to complete a free spins scatter as well.

Verdict

We really enjoyed Andvari: The Magic Ring, and the slot has what to offer its players.

While none of the features are something we haven’t seen before, the Lock&Win triggers often enough, the Magic Wheel is a nice feature to see your progress move up towards to and the free spins can turn to be a handful especially with a lucky retrigger.
