Slot Design

Aquanauts online slot has a slightly larger 5×5 gameboard, with 5 reels, 5 rows and 3125 paylines.

The game’s RTP is 96.26% and its variance is set to VERY HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin is 0.30$, while the maximum bet per spin is 21.00$ which seem an odd number, as most we have seen are either 20.00$ or 25.00$.

The slot design is pretty simplistic with clean polished symbols, but a static background, which we believe could have been cooler and animated, which would have made the game much more pleasing.

The music and sounds match well the theme of this online slot, while the menu on the right is pretty straight forward, easy to understand and navigate.

Special Features

  • Rolling Reels: Whenever the symbols form a winning combination, the win is paid, the symbols are destroyed and replaced with new ones. This feature can award multiple consecutive wins. In the base game, each consecutive win, increases the multiplier by 1x and the multiplier resets once the roll is complete. During the free spins the multiplier increases by 1x,2x or 3x and it does not reset once the roll is finished.

  • Echo Roll: Once the roll is complete, the Echo Roll awards another guaranteed win. During the base game, the winning positions are filled with high, low or wild symbols. During the free spins the feature can be modified to award wild symbols or not to award low paying symbols.

  • Free Spins with Bonus Wheel: Landing 3 scatters awards 8 free spins and triggers the free spin wheel. Each additional scatter adds 2 free spins. In the free spins mode, each scatter adds an additional free spin. The wheel can grant +2 or +4 additional spins, 2x or 3x multiplier increments, or no low symbols during Echo Roll feature.

  • Upsizer Feature: After spinning the bonus wheel, the player can upgrade any remaining free spins modifiers for a calculated cost.

Verdict

Aquanauts is a decent online slot, brought by Alchemy Gaming in the Microgaming online casinos.

The game has decent features, decent amount of free spins, multipliers, in addition to the Rolling Reels and Echo Roll features.

The only thing that’s lackluster is the non-animated background and the simplistic symbols, which we feel, could have been done much better.

Great game overall, and definitely recommended for those looking for some extra underwater action.
