The slot’s theme is as you could have guessed it ‘Norse Mythology’, where players will be spinning with up to 262,144 ways to win, and with a max prize of up to 5,000x the bet.

On a first look Asgardian Fire looks like your regular slot, but the gameboard actually has 6 reels, up to 8 rows and up to 262,144 payways.

The slot’s RTP is 96.00% and its variance is set to HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, making this slot ideal for a wide range of players.

The bet menu layout is perfect, allowing players to select their desired bet with a single click, though up and down arrows are available directly from the gameboard as well, to adjust the wager.

The navigation starts with a menu on the bottom left and quick spin and sound options on the bottom right.

When you open the menu on the left, the settings menu shows up, allow you to turn down the volume of the music or sounds separately.

There are also options for autoplay and betting, but those are easily accessible from the gameboard as well.

The symbols and animations are very well done, which has always been the case with slots developed by Neon Valley Studios.

Slot Features

• Rolling Reels: This feature triggers on any winning spin. The winning symbols are removed to make way for new ones. This feature continues as long as new winning combinations appear.

This feature trigger very often, but it really pays off when the rows are 7 or 8 and the payways are almost at their max.

• Escalating Ways: After a winning cascade, an additional row of symbol is added on top of the reels. Up to 4 additional rows can be added for more ways to win.

• Jumbo Blocks: Jumbo blocks can appear during the Rolling Reels feature. They can appear on reels 2-6 and can be any symbol except scatters and wilds. The jumbo block can be 3 sizes: 2×2, 3×3 and 4×4.

The jumbo block here, is 4×4, but we’ve had the 3×3 also show up often enough.

• Wild Fill Feature: The empty spaces below jumbo blocks are filled with Wilds.

When this feature triggers, the pays are usually pretty good, in our case we received a 22.4x payout on that single spin.

• Second Chance: Every scatter that lands on the gameboard activates this feature. This feature triggers after the win is complete. Up to 12 symbols within a diamond shaped area around each scatter symbol will explode giving space for additional symbols to cascade in. Scatters, jumbo blocks do not explode.

The diamond symbols start pulsating, and explode. This is a feature that you will see quite often as well.

• Free Spins: When a player lands 3 scatters, 6 free spins are awarded. Each additional scatter adds 3 extra spins. This feature can be retriggered. The feature starts with elevator set to 4 rows and it moves up with 1 row for each winning spin.

Though the elevator went up to the last row and we had maximum payways for 6 spins our overall payout was only 48x, which of course could be explained with the high volatility of the slot.

• Wilds & Persistent Wilds: Wilds in this slot appears on rows 2-6 and substitutes for all symbols but scatters. Once wins are complete any remaining Wilds will be collected on the bottom of the reel and will persist until they are a part of a win. This is only available during Free spins.

This feature pays out pretty well as we did not land a single win until spin 13/15, from that point on thanks to the persisting wilds we managed to get a total payout of 50.60x.

• Buy Feature: If a play does not wish to wait to trigger free spins, they can be purchased for a calculated cost.

The cost is 70x for 6 free spins, 100x for 9 free spins, 125x for 12 free spins, 140x for 15 free spins and a whopping 300x for 25 free spins.

• Upsizer: The Upsizer feature allows you to purchase higher amount of free spins whenever you trigger free spins.

Verdict

Asgardian Fire has been one of the most played slots during September and continues strong during October 2023.

After testing the slot with a few thousand spins we can see why people like it so much.

The slot is packed with plenty of features, and though it has high volatility, we did not feel bored when a dry period would occur.

Perhaps because of the Rolling Reels, or the constant Wilds and Jumbo symbols, but we did not feel at any point bored, not seeing any wins.

The quality of the symbols, gameboard and animations are superb, something to be expected from Neon Valley Studios.
