Slot Design
Avalon III has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.30%, the volatility is set to HIGH and the hit rate is 18.11%.
The minimum bet per spins starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 50.00$, with the max win being capped at 5,000x the bet.
The betting menu is quite simplistic, but we would prefer to just get all the preset options so the player can choose the desired wager with a single click. For a slot that claims to be the hottest slot of the year, this should have been take care of as it has become the norm.
The settings menu, is also very basic but not in a good way, the sound options only allow the players to mute both music and sound and not just the music for example. Some of the newest slots from big studios even have volume sliders, but here we have nothing.
Overall the UI needs improvements, but at the same time the graphics are nice, the symbols, the animations and music are well done.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for other symbols and can show up stacked. This symbol shows during base game and free spins.
We did see those a lot but they were rarely connected to each other and this was one of the rare occasions where we saw a winning combination.
- Magic Orb Bonus: Collecting Magic Orbs in the top right chest increases the number of orbs by 1. The magic orb symbol shows up on reel 3.
Once it triggers all of the orbs show up on the board. The minimum number of orbs is 5, while the maximum is 50. The orbs contain values up to 6x and can have one of the 5 jackpots as well. Orbs with multipliers can show up as well.
- Jackpot Bonus: Collecting jackpot orbs increases the jackpot amount. The slot offers 5 different jackpots: Mini 8x, Minor 15x, Midi 40x Maxi 100x – 1,000x and MEGA 1,000x – 5,000x.
The collection symbols can also trigger the jackpot bonus feature at random. Picking 3 identical symbols award the corresponding jackpot.
- Free Spins: Collecting Free Spins orbs will randomly trigger this feature and award 8 free spins.
Landing the free spins symbols during the feature awards an additional +3 free spins. We had a total of 14 free spins during our first trigger.
- Buy Feature: If for any reason a player does not wish to wait to trigger free spins, they can purchase them for a 100x cost.
We believe if the price was around 60-80x this feature would have been worth it, as most wins we received from free spins were around there or slightly above. We never managed to break even buying this feature 6-7 times.
Verdict
Avalon III has been advertised as one of the biggest online slots for 2025, but is that really the case?
In terms of visuals and UI, we feel like there should have been better betting menus, sound options and all those quality of life improvements that many modern slots have.
In terms of features, yeah the mystery orbs were nice, the jackpots were also a good addition and the free spins with the extra spins were also entertaining.
Bottom line, it’s a decent slot, but to be the biggest online slot it requires perfection and this slot isn’t it.
