Boom Pirates Fight For Gold has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard with 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.37%, the volatility was kept MEDIUM and the hit rate is 27.19%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 12.50$, with the max win being capped at 20,000x.
The bet menu has always been decent, allowing players to choose their wager with a single click, though the options are not that many.
The settings menu is quite short and we’d like to see more audio options like separate background music and sounds options.
Overall the slot keeps nearly identical visuals as the original from 2023, but with some improvements, while the gameboard was totally changed.
Bottom line Foxium has done a great job in terms of visual presentation, we only wish we would get more options to customize the game.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but coin symbols and bonus collect symbols.
Though this would help you some more wins here and there, we found out that the bread and butter of the slot is the boom collect feature during base game.
- Boom Collect: When the player lands coins and a collect symbol on reel 5 on the same spin, the cash prizes are collected.
Reel 5 will respin and will have a chance to land a multiplier up to 5x, which is also quite neat. However if you hit several silver/gold coins and a multiplier then the payout gets quite decent.
We landed several bronze and silver coins here with a 2x multiplier and managed to get a total of 44x payout.
- Pirate Treasure Game: Landing coins during base game can randomly trigger any of the 3 bonus games: bronze, silver or gold. Each feature is played with the corresponding coins: bronze with bronze coins (1x – 5x bet); silver with silver coins (6x – 15x bet); gold with gold coins (20x – 50x bet).
Our trigger was silver game with no multipliers. This is essentially a Link&Win feature, where the player starts with 3 respins and if any new symbol lands the count resets back to 3. During this trigger we did not land anything at all which was disappointing as this took over a 100 spins to trigger with the boost feature turned on.
- Jackpots: During the bonus games, depending on what kind of coins you land, you would be able to play for the jackpot. Any coin that lands is collected towards one of the three jackpots. The first 10 coins will grant the Mini 10x, the next 5 will give you the Major 50x and the last 5 so a total of 20 coins landed will grant the Grand jackpot 20,000x.
During this trigger, we managed to collect enough to get the Mini 10x jackpot, and that’s the highest we’ve seen so far. Overall this feature is quite underwhelming compared to the collect feature which has managed to give us a 80x prize.
- Boost Feature: If the player would like to have a higher chance to trigger the bonus games, they can turn on the Boost feature which adds more coins on the reels but increase the bet by 50%.
While this indeed trigger the bonus games more often, we think the cost of 50% increased bet per spin is too steep.
Verdict
Boom Pirates Fight For Gold comes with a huge 20,000x max prize, several features and a booster.
With a medium volatility, the slot triggers features pretty often, mostly the collect feature which can give quite high prizes, for us personally was an 80x on a single spin.
Overall a decent slot which has been one of the most popular games for October 2024 in Yukon Gold Casino.
