Bucket of Bass is an online slot, developed by High Limit Studio, powered by Apricot online casinos, scheduled to be released on September 9th 2025.

This is a fishing themed slot, with medium volatility, a max prize of up to 6,250x and a decent hit rating.

While the slot is more than a month away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino, Canada’s top casino has it exclusively in their Early Release section.

Slot Design

Bucket of Bass has the standard 5×3 gameboard, which consists of 5 reels, 3 rows, and 25 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.16%, volatility is set to MEDIUM and the hit rate is 24.56%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.25$, while the maximum bet reaches 40.00$, with the maximum win being capped at 6,250x.

High Limit Studio still has nothing that resembles a bet menu, and use the old school adjusting buttons where after numerous clicks you get your desired wager. Most other studios, especially the new ones have already migrated to the 1 click menus, where the player can select their bet with a SINGLE click.

Their settings menu however is a decent one, allowing players to mute either the music or the sound effects, or even both. The quick spins option is directly on the gameboard, same with the autoplays menu.

Overall the UI remains the same as previous slots, and we are still hoping the studio will introduce these quality of life changes, that we have been looking for for the past months.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but scatters, collect and prize symbols, trigger symbols and balloon symbols.

While these show up often enough during base game, we don’t really look for them, as this slot has plenty of other features to look forward to.

• Lucky Levels: There are a total of 4 Lucky Levels in the game, and are unlocked after a certain amount of spins. Level 1 comes quickly after only 20 spins and adds an attacking kraken, that can randomly add wilds or prize symbols on reels 2-4.

When the level is reached, the chest will pop up and you’d have to click it, to receive the feature. Level 2 comes after 50 spins and will unlock the jackpot booster symbols. Whenever you land a symbol it will increase the value of one of the 5 jackpots. Level 3 unlocks after a 100 spins and adds an additional collect symbol on reel 1 as well. In addition multiplier symbols are added for the free spins.

This has the potential to increase your winnings when you land both collect symbols at once, though it’s not guaranteed and from our testing, we rarely saw both of them appear on the same spin. Lucky Level 4 unlocks after 200 spins and guarantees a minimum free spins win between 20x and 200x.

• Collect Feature: Whenever a collect symbol lands with prize symbols, this feature trigger and collects all prizes on the reels.

This feature is what you are looking for during base game and free spins, and when level 3 is unlocked, you will get an additional collect symbol on reel 1 with an additional multiplier during free spins.

• Wheel Bonus: This feature can randomly trigger and will allow you to spin the “wheel” for a chance to land one of the 5 jackpots.

The initial prizes of the jackpots are: Mini 5x; Maxi 10x; Minor 50x; Major 200x and MEGA 1,250x. Because of the jackpot booster symbols these values can be increased to the maximum of: Mini 40x; Maxi 80x; Minor 200x; Major 800x and MEGA 5,000x. As usual this feature weights towards the lower values, so on multiple occasions we won the Mini and Maxi jackpots, rarely the Minor. Once the jackpot is won the value reset back to the initial.

• Free Spins: Whenever 3 scatters land on the reel, 10 free spins are awarded. The collect symbol multiplier become active, and whenever the collect feature is triggered, the collect prizes are multiplied afterwards by the multiplier.

With multipliers close to the maximum, and double collect symbols, even small prizes become a big win on a single spin, like the above example where prizes of 2x, 1.2 and 0.8x became a total of 74x on a single spin. During base game, whenever a multiplier booster lands, it adds 5.0x towards the minimum free spins win.

Once both multipliers are maxed out to 10x, the minimum free spins winnings become 200x, which is pretty great for a medium volatility slot. Something to note is that once the multiplier hit 10x, it becomes very hard to trigger the free spins. It took us forever perhaps over a 1000 spins.

The wait however was worth it, as we managed to get a 300x payout after that long wait. Once the free spins were done, a multiplier reset feature came up.

This will award a random multiplier up to 10x on both reel 1 and 5.

• Balloon Bonus Feature: The balloon symbol can appear on any other symbol but bonus boosters and multiplier boosters symbols. When it shows up this feature is triggered. The balloon will start flying up during the feature and it can reward a prize between 0.8x and 5,000x

This is what the feature should look like, taken from the demo the slot has. During several hours of spinning, and perhaps over 3,000 spins we never saw this feature. It’s so rare, that we might as well not even count it as a feature. If you happen to land it, you will be one of the very few lucky ones.

• Buy Feature: The buy feature allows players to simply purchase the free spins and get a roll on random multipliers between 5x and 10x.

The feature costs 150x, and the UI is a bit confusing on where you have to click to buy it as there’s not BUY button or anything. The player has to hit the green checkmark button. But even before that, to get this menu you have to click on the text on the bottom left where it says Buy Free Spins. Perhaps a button would’ve been easier to spot.

Verdict

Bucket of Bass pleasantly surprised us, but at the same time gave us some mixed feelings after an hour of playing.

First the good things about the slot, many features, medium volatility, good triggers, rarely any dry periods at all, great minimum win guaranteed on free spins, five different jackpots.

The minimum win guaranteed is great, but at the same time, the bigger the prize the less likely is to trigger the free spins, to the point when we had the cap of 200x guaranteed win, it took us an hour to trigger any free spins.

The balloon feature we did not see at all, though we spent several hours on this slot, and over 3,000 spins.

The collect feature was the bread and butter of the slot, bringing in decent payouts constantly, and the sole generator of wins during the free spins.

Overall a very decent slot, that’s more than a month away from an official release, but Yukon Gold Casino, Canada’s top casino currently has it exclusively in their Early Releases section.
