Chronicles of Olympus II – Hades online slot has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 1024 paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.05%, the volatility is set to VERY HIGH and the hit rate is 25.33%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 50.00$.

The bet menu is not ideal, but it has several preset bets, the min and max included, and on the advanced tab you can simply adjust the wager with plus and minus buttons.

Ideally you’d want a menu where all possible bets are listed and the player can choose a wager with a simply click.

The settings menu does not offer much, just a quick spin option which is also available directly on the gameboard and a sound mute option.

Ideally you would want two separate options for music and sound, which a lot of new slots have and we expect this to become the new standard.

The visuals of the slot are great, sharp good looking images, smooth animation and an incredible epic background music, if you are into that genre.

Seriously if you are fan of epic music, this slot has one of the best background music we’ve ever heard in a slot and that’s not even an exaggeration.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this game can substitute for all symbols but scatters. When a wild shows up on the board it can carry a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier as well.

This symbol shows up very often, and a lot of the times it has a 2x or a 3x multiplier, and occasionally a 5x one.

• X UP feature: When you land 2 Red X scatters the player collects 1 X UP token. These tokens activate higher free spins multiplier levels on the trail on the left. The 2 Blue X scatters permanently upgrade the multiplier level by 1 starting from the top. When the trail turns blue, any 2 blue scatters will double the top multiplier up to 25x. Getting 2 diamond scatters will trigger free spins at the current maximum multiplier.

During base game and free spins, you see the 2 red scatters quite often, the blue ones perhaps once every 50 spins, and the diamond ones quite rarely. In fact we only saw the diamond combo once in close to a thousand spins.

• Free Spins: When you land 3 red scatters, you will trigger 8 free spins with the current active multiplier. During the free spins landing 2 red scatters will award you 2 free spins and 1 X token, while 2 diamond scatters will award 2 free spins and top X up multiplier.

The free spins are displayed on the bottom, and as you can see we already had a 2 Red scatters that added +2 spins, and now another 2 red scatters which boosted our multiplier to 3x and gave us another 2 spins. During this trigger received a total of 14 free spins but our overall payout was only 10x. The super high volatility in this game is a real mood killer.

• Upsizer Feature: This feature simply allows you to purchase higher multipliers when you trigger the free spins. The price varies depending on your current multiplier level.

It looks like the cost is roughly 6.6x for the next tier of multiplier. Obviously you can just start the free spins at your currently multiplier, which is what we did.

• Buy Bonus: If you wish to purchase the 8 free spins, you can do so for a calculated cost. It will have 25x multiplier and the price is 200x the current bet.

Because the volatility of the slot is very high, this feature does not guarantee that it will even break even. We would recommend to stay away from this feature, as we tested it and in 10 buys we managed to break even only once. All other triggers did not get to even half the cost, so be very careful with this feature.

Verdict

Chronicles of Olympus II – Hades is very similar to the other Chronicle slots, like Chronicles of Olympus X Up but flashier.

The slot has plenty of features, and a max prize of up to 5,000x, and big multipliers in free spins up to 25x.

The music is incredible for those that love epic music, and the overall presentation of the slot is superb.

However, the very high volatility can make your experience so bad, that at times it feels like this slot does not award anything at all.

There’s probably a flip side to this, but we experienced the dry runs, and it was not entertaining or fun.

This slot will come out officially on February 22nd 2024, but currently is exclusively available on Yukon Gold Casino, as an Early Release.
