Dark Waters 2 Power Combo, is an online slot, developed by Just For The Win, powered by Apricot online casinos, released on August 26th 2025.
The slot is the sequel to the popular Dark Waters Power Combo, released in February 2024, that was on the most popular list for several weeks.
This one comes with a higher max win of up to 6,250x, different reel features, and bonus tokens to enhance them to the max.
Slot Design
Dark Waters 2 Power Combo has the same size gameboard as its predecessor 6×4, with 6 reels 4 rows and 4096 paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.00%, the volatility has been set to HIGH and the hit rate is 30.98%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 40.00$, with the max prize being capped at 6,250x.
An ideal bet menu, offering all available betting options on a single screen, where the player can select their desired wager with a single click.
The slot just like the original, has no settings menu, but has an autoplay menu which allows players to select up to a 100 autoplays.
The audio settings are on the right top side with just a mute button, and sadly that’s not enough in 2025. We would like to see a menu with sounds and music separated and perhaps even volume sliders.
The UI looks very similar to the first slot where the only difference is the reels, their features and the progression tokens.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot are the W symbols which substitute for all symbols but trigger symbols, progression symbols, prizes symbols and collect symbols.
During our gameplay these showed up quite often, so expect to see them all the time during base gameplay. However what we are looking for is the collect feature.
- Collect Feature: The collect feature triggers when you trigger prize symbols and a collect symbol on reel 6. The money symbols can range from 0.5x to 10x, or be one of the 4 jackpots: Mini 15x, Minor 40x, Major 200x and MEGA 5,000x.
This feature triggers often enough, and usually award decent medium sized prizes during base game. However where it shines is during free spins with Golden Reels progress maxed out next to the Stack Collect.
- Progression Tokens: The progression tokens are the diamonds below the 3 different features above the gameboard. The Giant Reels progress allows the gameboard to expand and award a lot more payways.
When maxed out there would be a total of 262,144 payways up from the default 4096 and that’s huge. The Golden Reels progress adds only money symbols on different reels.
With one token there’s only one reel that will include only money symbols, but with the max it will be a total of 4/5 reels with only money symbols. However if the player does not land a collect symbol on reel 6 it would not contribute to anything. This is where the Stack Collect comes to play.
With one 1/4 progress tokens the player gets 2 collect symbols and when maxed out they get a total of up to 5 collect symbols which will collect simultaneously all money symbols on the reels.
- Free Spins Power Combo: The free spins can be triggered randomly by any of the trigger tokens that get collected by each chest and are purple, red or blue. Multiple features can be triggered at the same time as this is a Power Combo slot. The player starts with 10 free spins and if they trigger another feature they get an additional 3 spins.
We started with Giant Reels with only 1/4 progress so we only received an additional row, but 5 spins after we started we triggered the stacked collect symbols so we started getting 2 collect symbols and an additional 3 free spins for a total of 13. Our overall payout was 39x.
- Coin Burst Feature: The feature allows players to get more prize and collect symbols, trigger free spins at max for some crazy costs.
The cost ranges from 15x to 400x and we tested all of them, and they are very much hit or miss and quite risky for your overall bankroll. We decided to test the most expensive feature to see does it pay off. We tried it 13 times and none of these times we came even close to breaking even.
Despite the many collecting symbols and 4 rows of money symbols, to break even most of the time a player would need to trigger the collect feature twice. Sadly during all of our tries we landed it only once, so we would recommend players to stay away from this and save their money.
Verdict
Dark Waters 2 Power Combo, offers some different features, but at the same time looks exactly like the original with a few twists.
The progress bars on each feature can make it feel totally different as the different between 1/4 and 4/4 is quite substantial.
The max prize has been increased from 5,000x to 6,250x, and a Buy Feature has been added for players to spend additional money if they choose to.
We did not like that, and did not find ANY value in those as we purchased the most expensive trigger 13 times and we never got to even break even.
Overall the slot feels the same as the original, with slightly different features that feel even more different depending on your progress bar.
Originally we were gonna give this slot a high rating because it was decent, but the sleazy buy feature pissed us off, because of the horrible return rate. It literally became just a money sinkhole without any benefit.
