Slot Design
Devil’s Hot Pots has the standard 5×3 gameboard with 5 reels, 3 rows but only 10 paylines in base game and 20 paylines in free spins.
The slot’s RTP is 96.31%, the volatility is set to HIGH and the hit rate is 22.97%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 25.00$, with the max prize being capped at 10,000x the bet.
The bet menu is pretty much like in every other slot from this studio, allowing us to select the desired wager with a single click and not waste any time.
Unfortunately the settings menu is exactly like before, having only and on/off Audio option, which does not allow us to stop the music separately while keeping the slot’s sounds.
Most modern slots these days even offer volume control on both and we hope Foxium will do that little quality of life tweak for its players soon.
Overall the UI looks good, the symbols look good and the animation are flawless as usual, so in terms of visuals this slot is awesome.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The devil symbol is the wild symbol in this slot, substituting for all symbols but scatters. This symbol is a walking symbol and it will shift on each spin either to the left or right.
This symbol also serves as a collect symbol and if there are any cash prizes on the gameboard it will collect them.
- Collect Feature: When the devil’s symbol lands with hellfin symbols it will collect them and award the prizes immediately.
At the same time, the hellfins can create paylines and get winning combinations from them as well. There can be multiple collect symbols on the gameboard.
All of the devil symbols collect the prizes on the gameboard separately and serve as wilds at the same time, when the cash prizes can also form winning combinations.
- Hot Pot Bonus Feature: This slot contains 4 different jackpots: Mini 10x – 25x; Minor 30x – 50x; Major 100x – 500x and Grand 5,000x – 10,000x. Whenever you land a trident during base game, it will increase the value of the jackpot by 0.5x the bet. Collecting hot pots during gameplay can trigger this feature where the hot pots can contain one of the 4 jackpots. Getting 3 identical pots awards the corresponding jackpot.
Sadly during this feature you can’t choose which pots to open, so it’s all random when you click the “Press” button. Although we had all jackpots on the board twice, we only managed to get the Mini one, which at the time was 16x.
- Free Spins: The scatters are the bomb symbols and during base game landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters will trigger 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. The free spins contain a multiplier trail, where every 3 devil’s symbols you will receive 5 extra spins and an increased multiplier. During base game, the free spin bonus bar gets filled whenever you land 2 scatters only.
When we finally triggered the free spins after 2,120 spins, we had the trail maxed out and we managed to get the 2x multiplier almost right away. Our total payout was 185.6x but it took so long to trigger (close to 3h) that we were not excited at all.
Verdict
Devil’s Hot Pots looks like a really fun slot on paper until we played it for a few hours.
The good thing about the slot is the graphics, the high 10,000x max win and the collect feature which shows quite often during the base game.
The bad thing about the slot is that the free spins which make up like 33% of the available features, are non-existent and it took us more than 2,000 spins and 3 hours of gameplay to see them once.
While the payout on those wins were 185.6x, we think a lot of players would have given up before actually seeing this feature.
