The game has a very unusual gameboard with feature tabs which get unlocked as your start spinning, with a max prize up to 7,500x the bet.

Though the slot is almost 2 months away from an official release, it’s currently available on Yukon Gold Casino for all registered players.

Gold Fusion has an interesting 5×3 gameboard with 5 reels, 3 rows, 20 fixed paylines and 5 feature tabs on top everything.

These feature tabs get unlocked/upgraded as the player proceeds to spin the reels and lands the unlocking/upgrading symbol.

The slot’s RTP is 96.24%, the volatility is set to HIGH and the hit rate is 20.57%.

The minimum bet per spin stars from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 30.00$, with a max prize up to 7,500x the bet.

The bet menu is perfect for today’s standards as it allows the player to select their desired wager with a single click. There’s an option on the gameboard where you can adjust it with the plus and minus buttons, but why waste time.

The settings menu could use more options, like separating the sounds and music, as if the music gets annoying there’s no option to turn that off individually, something many other modern slots now offer.

Overall decent UI as usual, but the symbols and animated background look a bit off in terms of colors as you can see the pixels everywhere. We are guessing this was done for a faster loading but at the same time pixelated images don’t look appealing.

Slot Features

• Feature Tabs: There are a total of 5 feature tabs in this slot: Wild Multiplier, Mini Jackpot, Extra Wilds, Minor Jackpot and Walking Wilds. During gameplay these features get upgraded or triggered by two different symbols. The max wild multiplier on reel 1 can get up to 10x, the mini jackpot on reel 2 can be between 5x and 30x, the extra wilds on reel 3 can be between 2 and 10, the minor jackpot on reel 4 can be between 30x and 80x and the walking wilds on reel 5 can be between 1 and 3.

The triangle symbol upgrades the feature and the orb symbol triggers it or unlocks one of the 4 locks for the jackpot reels which are reel 2 and reel 4. It may look complicated in the beginning but it’s actually a really simple concept.

• Jackpot Feature: During gameplay a random MAJOR spin or a random GRAND spin can occur. If a symbol lands on each reel the jackpot is awarded.

When this feature randomly triggers, if you land an orb symbol on each reel the jackpot is won. The jackpots have base values and max values: Mini 10x; Minor 30x; Major 250x and Grand 2,500x these are the base values. The max values are: Mini 30x; Minor 80x; Major 750x and GRAND 7,500x which is the max prize of this slot.

• Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters triggers the Free Spins wheel. The wheel will award 10 free spins with 1 feature from one of the feature tabs.

If you wish to change the feature it will be for a calculated cost offered by the Upsizer but it does not guarantee that, that feature is better.

We took the extra wilds on our first trigger and we liked it as we managed to land 10+ wilds several times which lead to a 70x+ payout.

• Upsizer: Once the free spins wheel has landed your feature, you can upgrade it for a calculated cost.

The features are rated in this order: Wild Multipliers -> Extra Wilds -> Walking Wilds -> Jackpots. We did test jackpots but we did end up with a lower payout than the extra wilds several times, so an upgrade does not guarantee anything.

• Buy Feature: If the player does not wish to wait for the free spins to trigger, they can purchase the feature for 50x the bet.

We tested this feature several times and we did manage to break even initially, but because of the high volatility it’s a hit or miss.

Verdict

We really enjoyed Gold Fusion in terms of features as the slot has a lot of them.

We particularly liked these feature tabs that are like separate features during base game and free spins.

Our only problem with the slot are the graphics and perhaps the lack of more setting options.
