Slot Design
Gold Rush Express online slot has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.45% and its variance is set to HIGH.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, making this slot ideal for a wide range of players.

The only minor complain we have for this slot is that the sounds and music are bundled up and you can’t turn them off separately.
Slot Features
- Rush Express Feature: Gold Trains and Bell symbols can appear only on reel 5. When either symbol lands on reel 5 and at least one train symbol lands anywhere else in the same spin, this feature is triggered. The mini train feature starts and each wagon contains a prize that drops down in the train symbol and then is collected and awarded by the gold symbol.
We triggered the feature here, where the blue train started rolling and we managed to get a total of 17x payout. The color of the train determines what the last wagon can award, either a multiplier or the corresponding jackpot. In our case it could have been the Minor jackpot as the train color was blue.
During this Rush Express of the blue train, we managed to land the Minor jackpot which is 50x the current bet. It is possible to trigger multiple trains if two or more train symbols land on reels 1-4. The gold train symbol alone on reel 5, makes all of the gold nugget prizes to go up, and replicate each wagon with the total prize for up to 10 times.
After around 500 spins we landed a red train, which has the potential to award the Grand jackpot from the last wagon, but we were not that fortunate.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters on the gameboard awards 10 free spins. A retrigger isn’t possible, but the Rush Express feature triggers more often.
Funny enough when we started spinning our very first spin landed us 10 free spins. During the free spins we managed to trigger the Rush Express several times, where the last wagon gave us a 2x multiplier.
Our overall payout was close to 87x at the end of the 10th spin. The second time we managed to trigger free spins we did not get a single Rush Express, but did manage to land gold symbols on reel 5, which awarded us the prizes present on the board.
- Pick Feature: The nugget symbol can trigger this feature randomly after the end of each base spin. A spin that triggers the Rush Express feature or Free Spins cannot trigger this feature.
After two hours of spinning we finally triggered this feature, which means it triggers quite rarely.
It wasn’t really worth it in terms of waiting and payout, but it was nice to trigger and see what exactly the feature looked like.
Verdict
Area Vegas Games is really coming along with some great releases recently, Gold Rush Express being one of them.
This slot has superb graphics, three features that are pretty decent, and a maximum grand prize of 5,000x the current bet.
While the high volatility is not everyone’s cup of tea, the slot is definitely worth the time and is now available at Yukon Gold Casino, one of the top performing casinos in the Casino Rewards network.
