Slot Design
Knights Shield Link&Win 4Tune has the standard 5×3 gameboard, with 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.24%, the volatility is HIGH and the hit rate is 28.48%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.25$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 25.00$, making the slot ideal for those looking for a low wagering slot.
We never liked the style Gold Coin Studios chose from the very beginning for their bet menu, and we are not sure why they are sticking with it, since most studios are going for one click wager these days.
The settings options are the exact opposite, we love it as it has everything we need, like music and sounds on a separate channel so we can turn them off individually.
The UI is pretty much identical as all previous slots from this studio, the symbols are decent but nothing you haven’t seen before, while the music is actually quite nice if you are into epic orchestra.
Slot Features
- Wilds: Wilds in this slot are the Knight symbol, which substitute for all symbols but scatters and Link&Win symbols. During free spins the Wild symbol will land with a 2x multiplier.
These will show up quite often during base game and free spins, and will help you to complete some wins, but we did not see anything major.
- Link&Win 4Tune Feature: This feature can be triggered by both gold or silver symbols, and during the base game it takes 6 symbols, while in free spins it takes 5 symbols. The Link&Win symbols can be prize multipliers ranging from 1x – 500x, as well as one of the 4 jackpots: Mini 10x, Maxi 20x, Minor 100x, Major 500x. The feature starts with 3 respins, locking the triggering symbols. Each new symbol that lands resets the respins back to 3, and locks on the board. The feature ends when no symbol lands in 3 respins or when the player fills all slots in which the MEGA 10,000x jackpot is awarded.
When the future triggers from Silver coins, the bottom left set is unlocked and will count towards the respin reset, while the bottom right and top 2 sets will show the amount of symbols needed to land before they unlock.
With a bit of luck, all of the sets will be unlocked and at this point you are hoping to fill all spaces for the MEGA 10,000x jackpot.
Once the feature is done, all of the multipliers plus any jackpot that has landed is added up together for one giant multiplier, in our case 78x. If the feature is triggered with the gold symbols, all 4 sets are unlocked right away. This feature can also be triggered randomly and it’ the bread and butter of the slot, because without it, it has nothing going on.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters will award the player a choice on what kind of free spins they would like.
The gold option is more lucrative as it can trigger the gold symbol Link&Win, but at the same time riskier because if no trigger occurs the payouts are miniscule.
In our case we did not get anything and the total payout was 2x, which came from landing the three scatters.
Verdict
At first we wondered why Knights Shield Link&Win 4Tune has such a long name, but after the first Link&Win trigger we figured it out.
The slot is a decent attempt for a medieval slot, but the HIGH volatility is quite cruel especially for a slot that revolves entirely around one feature.
Once the Link&Win is triggered, this is where the fun begins, but before that happens it takes close to a hundred spins at least for us during our testing.
This slot is not officially out, but it’s currently available on Yukon Gold Casino, as an Early Release, so clients of that online casino can give it a spin and see if they like it.
