Slot Design
Lara Croft: Temples and Tombs online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.05% and its variance is set to VERY HIGH.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 40.00$, making this slot ideal for a wide range of players.
While the bet amount can be adjusted straight from the gameboard, and there’s a max bet button present, we prefer the bet menu, accessible from the navigation in the bottom left, allowing us to simply use the mouse wheel scroll and select the desired bet.
The quick spin option is available on the gameboard or in the settings menu, the same as the sound option which has extra options for music and sound in the settings menu, meaning it’s not bundled up.

Overall the UI looks great, the symbols have been done well, the animations are rock solid (no pun intended).
Slot Features
- Wilds: Golden scarabs are substitute symbols that can appear on the second, third, or fourth reels.
These will get collected in the chest on the top for a chance to trigger the jackpot feature.
- Free Spins: The Lara Croft book is the scatter in this online slot and landing 3 will trigger 8 free spins for each triggering way. This is why you can sometimes get 16 free spins. Wilds also contribute to the triggering.
Because of the extremely high volatility this feature can be very rewarding, or like in our case grant almost nothing.
- Rolling Reels: The mechanic of breaking symbols and dropping in new ones to replace them.
We had two consecutive wins here, and reached the 3x multiplier but never got to use it, as there was no more winning combinations.
- Multiplier Trail: When Rolling Reels triggers, each consecutive win ups the win multiplier. The base values are 1x, 2x, 3x and 5x.
This feature is always available and you will see 2x or 3x multiplier quite often during your spins. During free spins the values get boosted becoming 3x, 6x, 9x and 15x.
- Jackpot: This feature can randomly trigger from collecting the Wilds in the chest on the top of the gameboard. Once the feature triggers a wheel with 3 different colors and multiple tiers will appear.
These will start spinning until one of the colors is completely matched on all 3 tiers and the corresponding jackpot is awarded. During our extensive testing, we managed to trigger this feature twice, getting once the Major jackpot and once the Minor jackpot.
Verdict
Lara Croft: Temples and Tombs is a great slot, but with extremely high volatility, that can annoy you very much.
We managed to trigger anywhere from 8 to 16 free spins multiple times but the final payout never reached more than 30x.
The jackpot feature triggered quite fast for us, within the first 50 spins, we landed the major jackpot of 100x, but then did not see a trigger for around 400 spins, after which we only landed the minor jackpot.
The slot is a worthy title from the Lara Croft franchise, has great features and the potential line wins during free spins can get crazy especially with a few consecutive wins at 15x, but it’s quite rare due to the crazy volatility.
Our recommendation is to find a less volatile slot, perhaps one from our Most popular slots list, unless you are really sure you want to play a slot with super high variance.
