Lara Croft: Tomb of the Sun online slot has a slightly bigger than the standard 5×4 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 1024 paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.36% and its variance is set to HIGH.

The minimum bet of this online slot, starts from 0.10$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches a 100.00$, making this game perfect for all type of players.

While you can set your bet directly from the game board, and there’s a MAX BET button present, there’s also a menu on the bottom left where you can select the amount you’d like to bet.

It saves you a lot of clicking, if you do not wish to bet the maximum or minimum, so it’s quite nice that this menu has been included.

The graphics are very well done, something to be expected from an online slot released in mid 2023, while the orchestra music gives the mysterious vibe that fans of the franchise expect.

If you are not a fan of the music, this can be fixed by going into the settings menu and removing the option ‘Background Music’, which is much better than having to mute all sound, but if you wish to do so, there’s an option for that as well.

At this point you’ve probably noticed the Rolling Reels™ multiplier on top of the gameboard and the jackpots on the left.

These features would be explained in the next section, as they are the bread and butter of this slot and you are going to love them.

• Rolling Reels™: The feature is available during base game and free spins. However the values differ depending on which mode you are on:

For each consecutive win, the multiplier increases with one tier up to 5x during base game and up to 15x during free spins.

For those unaware of what the feature does is, when you have a winning combination, the winning symbols disappear and the ones above fall on their place. The new symbols can form another win and that increases the multiplier.

• Rising Reward™ Jackpot Feature: The jackpots in this online slot are not set, though they have a maximum cap. The base values are as follow: Mini:10x, Minor:15x, Major: 100x, Mega: 500x and Grand: 2,000x. These can grow as every wild may add to 1, 2 or 3 jackpots 1x the bet per wild. The wilds also give the player a chance to trigger the jackpot.

The gold pot on the left visually changes, the more wilds you land and once you trigger this feature, 1 of the 5 jackpots is guaranteed. The maximum cap of the jackpots is: Mini: 75x, Minor: 100x, Major: 750x, Mega: 1,500x and Grand: 3,500x.

• Wilds: In this online slot, wilds appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. They substitute for all symbols but scatters and can be double and triple stacked wilds. If the double or triple wilds contribute to a win, they persist and a single and a double wild. And if the persist through another win, the first one disappears and the other remains as a single wild.

• Free Spins: Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters, grants the player 8, 10 or 15 free spins. During those spins the Rolling Reel multiplier is increased to 3x, 6x, 9x and 15x, essentially tripling your winnings compared to the base game.

This is where the big winnings come from, as reaching 15x multiplier for several winnings really pays off. Unfortunately during our testing we never managed to actually get a winning combo after we went to 15x.

Verdict

Lara Croft: Tomb of the Sun is a great addition to the Lara Croft franchise, and we believe Triple Edge Studios have done a wonderful job.

This slot offers great graphics, easy to follow menus, 5 different jackpots, Rolling Reels feature, multiplier trails for both base game and free spins, and handful of free spins that can be retriggered.

While the game is set to be released on June 27th, it’s already out on Yukon Gold Casino under the New slot section tagged as ‘Early Release.

It doesn’t matter if you have played any of the previous Lara Croft games, this slot is a lot of fun, and is by far one of the best we have tested for this year.
