Links of Ra has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard, with 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.20%, the volatility is set to VERY HIGH and the hit rate is 29.33%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 20.00$, making the slot ideal for those looking for low wagering slots.
Considering that the slot was released 3 years ago, it’s normal to see this kind of bet menu with the coins per line and coin sizes, but we expect the sequel that will come in 2024, to have those removed and just offer wager options.
The settings menu does not have many options, but only quick spins and mute sounds, so the music and sounds are on the same channel and cannot be turned off separately.
The menu above the spin button shows the Autoplay button, and the quick spins button as well as a mini betting menu.
The UI of the slot is decent, the symbols are fine for a slot released in 2021, but nothing special that we haven’t seen before.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The Wild in this slot is the Links of Ra symbol, which appears stacked during free spins and substitutes for all symbols buy scatters and coins.
We were expecting to see the wilds a lot more often during base game, but they were appearing perhaps once every twenty spins.
- Power Stacks: Symbols can be randomly Super Stacked on a spin, and will be added to all reels. All symbols but scatters and wilds can be power stacked.
Plenty of symbols will show up during base game, and occasionally we would see winnings between 15x and 25x on a single spin.
- Link&Win Feature: Landing 6 or more coin symbols will trigger this feature. It starts with 3 respins and all the triggering symbols locked in place, while the remaining positions spin. Whenever you land an additional symbol, it’s locked in place and the respins reset back to 3. The grand prize of 25,000x will be won if all positions are filled.
When the future starts, you have to manually click on the spin button, which we found odd, as usually the respins start and end automatically. Our overall payout was only 21x, but given that the slot has a very high volatility not every trigger will have high returns.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters will grant the player 15 free spins. During the free spins all wins are multiplied by 2x.
During our trigger, we managed to get a Link&Win feature, and the winnings from it do not get multiplied by 2x. Our total payout was 56.2x.
Verdict
Links of Ra is an online slot that mixes Link&Win feature with power stacked symbols and free spins with 2x multiplier.
In addition the game has a huge max win of up to 25,000x, but that’s only available if you fill all Link&Win positions.
The very high volatility is also quite tricky as it can lead to extensive periods of time without landing anything.
This slot will have a sequel released in early 2024 on Yukon Gold Casino, and we will review it as soon as we have more details.
