Slot Design
Massive Gold online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.00% and its variance is set to MEDIUM.
If the Buy Feature is used, the RTP spikes up to 96.54%, while the volatility stays the same.
The minimum bet per spins starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, making the slot ideal for all types of players.
The bet menu layout is perfect, allowing us to select he desired wager with a single click, but there’s also a way to do that from the gameboard directly with the + and – buttons.
The slot also has an Autoplay menu, allowing players to have up to 100 auto spins.
The slot also offers a Quick Spins option, which turns into Turbo Spins when you reach 3/3, on the bottom right.
This however feels too fast for us, so during our test we kept it either 1/3 or 2/3.
There are no audio options, besides the speaker on the bottom left allowing you to mute the sound and music.
We enjoy slots that have these separated so we can perhaps turn off the music but keep the sounds of the slot.
Symbols and animations of this slot are very well done, smooth and extremely nice to look at, job well done.
Slot Features
- Collect Wins: During spins, gold bars will land on the reels with values from 0.2x up to 50x the bet. Landing a collect symbol on reel 5 will collect any existing prizes on the gameboard.
- Gold Booster: The multiplier stars from 1x, and will get boosted by every 1UP symbol that lands on the gameboard. Once the multiplier has been applied to the gold bar symbols it will reset to 1x. This feature is available in base game and free spins and can result in some big payouts.
This is the payout of the collect feature above, and a 2x Gold Booster, resulting in a 83.2x payout on a single spin. Now imagine if the multiplier was 5x, 7x, 10x.
- Bonus: The bonus feature can be randomly triggered by the landed gold bar symbols. It starts with 3 respins and an empty grid. If a prize symbol or a gold bar symbol lands during the 3 respins, the respins are set back to 3. If all positions are filled the MEGA prize is awarded, which is 5,000x the bet. The rest of the prize symbols are Mini 30x, Minor 100x, Major 500x.
In order to be awarded a specific prize such as Mini, Minor, Major or Mega, you would need to land that symbol a total of 3 times, as each time a diamond is awarded next to the jackpot above. Once you collect 3 jackpots the prize will be awarded. In our case we managed to land Mini and Minor twice and Major once.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 free spins symbols trigger 10 free spins. Each 1UP symbol boosts the multiplier by 1x. At 4x Gold Booster multiplier the player gets 5 additional free spins, the same goes for 7x and 10x.
The Gold Booster from the base spins DOES NOT transfer over to the free spins ones. It took us a few triggers to be able to reach an 8x multiplier, and we received a total of 20 free spins and a payout of 65.6x.
- Buy Feature: If you do not wish to wait for Free Spins trigger, you can purchase it for 50x the current bet.
Simplistic menu, in fact we were expecting more options, but this is it.
- Wilds: The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols in this slot, but scatters, 1up symbols and gold bars.
Verdict
After testing out Massive Gold online slot, we understood why it has been one of the most played slots for the last 30 days.
Snowborn Games have delivered an excellent product, starting from crisp clean 3D graphics, extremely smooth animations, wonderful music and plenty of features to entertain the players.
Though we could use a mute only music button, everything else in this slot is great.
