The theme of the game is the Wild West, where the players strap on a pair of cowboy boots and get to face the local sheriff, dueling for a prize up to 10,000x.

Outlaw Saloon online slot, has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines.

The RTP of this slot is slightly lower than the average, set at 95.98% and its volatility is HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin is 0.20$ and the maximum bet is 25.00$, making this slot more oriented towards those players looking for lower bet action.

Thought the slot has + and – to adjust the bet, there’s also a bet menu with coin size and number of coins, an odd choice for a game released in 2022.

In terms of design, the game looks pretty outdated, despite the fact that it was released less than 6 months ago, but at the same time it’s Gold Coin Studios first attempt at this genre.

The menu is the type, we dislike, changing from vertical to horizontal, with the back button on the bottom right, making it confusing and hard to navigate at first.

Notice how the go back button is that last arrow on the right, rather than an X somewhere at the top right, like many other slots have it.

One good thing is that the sound effects and music are separate and you can turn off the effects or the music individually, while quick spins is called here Fast Play.

One thing that’s annoying is if you set Fast Play, and win Free Spins, the feature will turn itself off afterwards, which doesn’t make much sense.

Slot Features

• Free Spin Badges: Collect 8 Sheriff badges to trigger 8 free spins in this online slot. Badges appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 and are Wilds. Revealed badges award 1 respin, and are locked during the respins. In the base game, landing a badge will reveal either a gold bar, another badge or a Wild. In free spins, landing another badge will add an extra free spin per badge. There are three selectable free spins to choose from: Multipliers Free Spins, Guaranteed Respins Free Spins and Cash Prize Free Spins.

This feature takes quite a while to trigger, because all badges have to be collected on the same spin, prolonged by consecutive respins, otherwise the counter resets. This goes for both badges and gold bars. We chose the multipliers option and ended up with roughly 32x payout

The second time we managed to trigger the free spins, we chose the second option with guaranteed respins. During that time, we managed to land a lot of extra spins, and the feature continued nearly 6 minutes. The overall payout was around 97x.

On the third time we triggered the free spins, we chose the last available option which was the cash prizes. Our overall payout was around 56x, though we did not see that many cash prize symbols, but saw plenty of extra spins ones.

Bottom line is pick the one you find most fun, for us that was the guaranteed respins, and not just because it gave us the highest payout.

• Gold Bar Meter Prizes: Collect Gold bars to win metered prizes. Three gold bars are 50x the bet, 4 are 500x the bet and 5 gold bars are the top prize of 5000x the bet. Gold bars appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 and are wild. Landing gold bars can reveal another gold bar, badge or a wild symbol. Revealed gold bars award one respins and are locked in place during the respin. For over a 1000 spins we did not manage to trigger this feature, because the bars have to be gathered from the same spin, or prolonged by respins, until you get 3, 4 or 5, which never happened.

Verdict

Outlaw Saloon is Gold Coin Studios attempt at Wild West online slots, and to be frank it’s not a very successful attempt.

The game does not shine in any department, as it lacks features, it lacks in terms of good quality symbols and easy navigation.

Overall we have much better games in this department, but still everyone has their own taste, so give it a spin, if you enjoy online slots from this developer.
