Slot Design
Runes to Riches online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.01% with Hit Rate 27.77% and its variance is set to HIGH.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 50.00$, making the slot ideal for all players.
Since their first game High Limit Studio has stuck with this “bet menu” and we are confused to why.
Since it’s already an extra button you have to click, might as well make it a menu where the player can select the desired wager, rather than expand a tiny window where they have to make additional clicks for no reason.
The Autoplay Menu is well done, with an option for Quick Spins, called Fast Play here, and there is what the betting menu should be as well.
The settings menu contains sound options, allowing us to turn on and off both music and sounds separately which is the ideal scenario.
Overall the UI is clean, and the symbols in this one show improvement from the previous slots released by this studio.
Slot Features
- Link&Win with Colored Symbols: The Link&Win feature in this slot triggers when you land 6 or more Link&Win symbols. The triggering symbols are locked in place, and the remaining positions respin. The feature starts with 3 respins, and whenever you land another symbol the number resets back to 3. In this slot however the feature has a twist with colored symbols.
- Green Symbol: Landing this symbol will add its value to 2 or more blue symbols locked on the board. The symbol turns blue afterwards
- Red Symbol: Landing this symbol will add its value to ALL blue symbols on the board. The symbol turns blue afterwards.
- Gold Symbol: Landing this symbol will add its value to ALL blue symbols, and landing an additional Link&Win symbol will re-trigger this one. The yellow symbol persists for the remainder of the feature.
During our first trigger we managed to land one green symbol, that added its value to 4 symbols. The overall payout was only 9.4x. Our second trigger had a Gold Symbol, and this is where they money is at, since it retriggers anytime you land a Link&Win symbol and persists. Our overall payout was 55x.
- Free Spins with Wild Multipliers: Landing 3 or more free spins scatters, triggers 11 free spins with wilds multiplying up to 60x. Reel 3 Wilds can multiply up to 2x, Reel 4 Wilds up to 3x and Reel 5 up to 10x. The values multiply each for bigger wins. Landing 3 additional scatters grant 3 extra spins. The multipliers increase on each spin.
Essentially if you haven’t landed extra spins, your last spin has the biggest potential, as all wild multipliers are on their maximum value. As you can see the Wild on reel 5 was on a 10x but did not participate in the winning combination. Our overall payout for the first trigger was only 27x, as we did not manage to land many winning combinations in the finishing spins, where the multipliers are the highest.
Verdict
We always give credit, when credit is due and this new slot deserves it.
It has much better graphics and animations from any previous High Limit Studio slots, the features are actually rewarding have a nice twist to them and makes you anticipate them.
Though the slot releases in mid November officially, it’s currently available on Yukon Gold Casino as an Early Release.
