Thunderstruck II is an online slot created by Games Global, powered by Microgaming online casinos, released in May 2010, as a sequel to the original Thunderstruck slot.

The slot’s theme revolves around Norse mythology, only this time as opposed to the original, the game includes other gods than Thor, like his brother Loki and his father Odin.

Thunderstruck II online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.65% and its variance is set to HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.30$, while the highest bet per spin reaches 150.00$, making this online slot virtually perfect for all types of players.

While the wagering menu has been improved from the original, it is exactly like the one in the Immortal Romance slot where on the right side, the Spin button becomes the Close ‘X” button and it’s positioned in the middle of the menu, something that’s not very common and you and many are searching for the ‘X’ at the top.

In terms of UI, the gameboard and menus are not much different from the original slot, the symbols and graphics still look dated.

The music is nice and the menus are easy to use and navigate with the exception with what we mentioned previously.

Overall an improvement compared to the Thunderstruck slot, released in 2004, six years prior to this one.

Slot Features

• Wilds: Just like in the original, Wilds substitute for all symbols but scatters and double the win if participating in a winning combination.

• Wildstorm Feature: This a new feature that triggers randomly and can turn up to 5 reels random. One important note is that free spins cannot be triggered during this feature.

• The Great Hall Of Spins: Landing 3 or more scatters triggers this feature, identical to the one we saw in Immortal Romance Slot. It’s essentially free spins but with 4 different options, where each option becomes available every 5 triggers.

The Valkyrie Free Spins is the first available option, awarding 10 free spins with 5x multiplier. Loki’s Free Spin become available after the 5th trigger. You can track your progress with the progress bar on top above the symbols. During Loki’s feature the player gets 15 free spins with a Wild Magic Symbol, which can appear on Reel 3 and transform up to 15 symbols into wilds. In addition, landing 2,3,4,or 5 scatters will trigger 1, 2, 3 or 4 free spins respectively.

On the 10th trigger Odin’s Free Spins unlock, where the player gets 20 free spins with a Wild Raven feature. Odin’s Ravens will turn 1 or 2 symbols into wilds with 2x or 3x multiplier. If both Ravens land the multiplier can be 6x.

From the 15th trigger Thor’s Free Spins unlock where the player gets 25 free spins with Rolling Reels™. It’s a popular feature where the winning symbols are destroyed and new ones take their place with a chance to create consecutive wins. The multiplier starts from 1x and it can go up to 5x on each consecutive win.

This is the sum we managed to get from 10 free spins with 5x multiplier on a 9.00$ bet per spin, so roughly around 27x-28x.

Verdict

Thunderstruck 2 has definitely been improved and is a slot that’s worth a lot more than the original.

However, while the slot does offer improvements, the symbols are pretty dated at this point, so are the menus and animations.

The maximum bet per spin at 150.00$, combined with the max win being 8000x, promises up to 1,200,000$ max prize, which looks lucrative and surpasses even most modern online slots.

If it’s numbers that you care about, then by all means go with this slot, we did not enjoy it that much.
