Slot Features

• Wilds: A close-up image of Lara has been used for the wild symbol, and these substitute for almost all others except for scatters and bonuses.

• Free spins: Landing 3 or more scatters which is the green symbol seen below triggers the free spins.

The feature does not start on its own, but there’s a button on the bottom that the player has to press to start the feature. Rolling Reels™ will be activated during this feature, where symbols participating in winning combinations will dissolve and new ones will take their place, potentially giving the player a chance for additional winnings. Each consecutive win increases the win multiplier by 1x up to a maximum of 5x.

During our testing, we managed to get up to 3x, with total wins of 1,038$ on a 60.00$ bet which is around 17x. Given that the slot’s variance is low, this seems okay.

• Super mode: This feature triggers randomly and awards 5 free spins. During the feature Wilds are randomly positioned on the gameboard and are held for the remainder of the feature. This feature cannot be triggered within Free Spins and cannot trigger with Free Spins simultaneously.

• Global Adventure Bonus: Activated by landing the passport symbol on each reel in the middle position of the reel. This will let you start searching for sword fragments.

On this gameboard we have already landed 4 reels and were waiting for reel 2 to land a passport in the middle of the reel. Once activated the 5th reel, we had to select a location to begin search for the ‘Hidden Sword Fragment’. Each locations however has booby traps and finding 2 booby traps ends this bonus game. If lucky however, random encounters may grant you a chance to continue your quest.

• Shootout bonus: Pick and choose from hidden discs to reveal multiplier values.

Verdict

Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword despite being dated has got a lot of things right and is a worthy addition to the Microgaming slot library.

The game was ported from download software to browser, where the visuals received a facelift.

This online slot has many features like: free spins with rolling reels with win multipliers up to 5x, a global bonus feature, shootout bonus and a super mode.

With low volatility and a high maximum bet of up to 150.00$ per spin, the game displayed plenty of hits with modest prizes.
