The slot appears to be a reskin of the Twofold For the Gold Slot, which the studio released back in September 2024 and was very popular among players.
In this one however you will be a miner and you will be spinning the reels and wheels for cash prizes hidden in gold nuggets, up to 5,000x.
Though the slot is more than a month away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino has it in their Early Releases section, exclusively.
Slot Design
Boomstick Bill has the standard 5×3 gameboard with 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines.
On top of the gameboard however we have a dynamite counter which shows your Lucky levels as in the previous slot.
The slot’s RTP is 96.01%, the volatility is set to MEDIUM and the hit rate is 24.56%
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.25$, while the maximum bet reaches 40.00$ with the max prize being capped at 5,000x
Once again we are disappointed to see that High Limit Studio hasn’t yet transitioned to a one click menu, and still prefer this adjusting one, which most studios have no ditched.
At the same time we like their settings menu, separating background music and sound effects, allowing the players to mute either one or both.
Overall the UI remains the same as the previous slot, with the Quick Spin option being the lightning icon on the bottom right as well as the autoplay icon.
The symbols are decent the animations are decent, and the music is something you’d expect for a mining theme slot.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The Wilds in this slot are the ‘W’ symbols which substitute for all symbols, but cash, collect, bonus and multiplier symbols.
During base game you will see plenty of those showing up, with occasionally bringing winnings as high as 15x on a single spin. However the bread and butter of the slot is the express collect combined with a high level of Lucky Levels.
- Lucky Levels: When the player starts the slot, they start from Lucky Level 0 and a counter of 20 on the top of the gameboard. Level 1 will unlock Boomstick Bill randomly showing up and adding wilds or prize symbols on reels 2-4. In 30 more spins Lucky Level 2 is activated and 5 wheel bonus boosters will be added to the reels. If any of those is landed, the wheel bonus prizes will be boosted.
When the upgrade occurs, this icon will pop on the window and the player would have to click it to continue. The counter will reset and the next level awaits. We would like to see an area where it shows what Lucky Level we are at exactly. On Lucky Level 3 a collect symbol will be added on Reel 1 with its own multiplier above the reel.
Both collect symbols can show up at the same time and collect the prizes simultaneously. The last level Lucky Level 4, will now guarantee 20x-200x minimum winnings in free spins.
- Express Collect: Landing gold nuggets with cash prizes and a collect symbol on reel 5 or reel 1 if Lucky Level 3, will trigger this feature. All prizes will be collected as awarded as winnings.
This is what the player is looking for during gameplay and this is where the big winnings are going to come from. The prizes can also be jackpots.
- Wheel Bonus: Whenever uncollected prizes get into the cart on the left, there’s a chance to trigger this feature. There are 5 available jackpots Mini 5x – 40x; Maxi 10x – 80x; Minor 50x – 200x; Major 200x – 800x and MEGA 1,250x – 5,000x. When Lucky Level 2 is reached, booster symbols can land on the gameboard to boost the initial values up to their maximum.
During our first trigger we managed to only get the Maxi jackpot but since we had landed several boosters, the value of the jackput was 40x.
- Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters will trigger 10 free spins. During the free spins, the multiplier above reel 5 and reel 1 (if Lucky Level 3) are active. All prizes collect from the collect feature will be multiplied.
Depending on the multiplier, the winnings can get pretty high with it and the maximum multiplier can be 10x. Once your free spins are over you will get a multiplier reset which will apply to both if you are Lucky Level 3+.
In this instance if we were Lucky Level 3, both multipliers would have taken the initial value of 3x for our next free spins trigger. After this any detonate symbol that lands on reel 5 or reel 1 (if Lucky Level 3) will upgrade the multiplier by 0.5x.
The upgrade symbol is only upgrades the multiplier above the reel and not both when you have one on reel 1 as well. These multipliers are always active in free spins only.
Verdict
Boomstick Bill is a decent slot, a reskin of Twofold for the Gold, and an excellent choice for those who prefer the mining theme.
