Slot Design

Crimson Castle has the standard 5×3 gameboard with 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.00%, the volatility is set to MEDIUM and the hit rate is undisclosed as all RTG slots.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.10$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 10.00$, with the max prize being capped at 50,000x the bet per line, as stated in the game menu.

The gameboard remains the same old as every RTG slot out there. The usual order goes from left to right with the payline button being on the left, followed by quick spins, the adjustment buttons for your wager, the max bet button and the autoplay button. The game options are on the right.

The settings menu is also the same with sound and music options present, and a hotkey for spin option.

Nothing new in the UI department as everything is identical to whatever you have played from RTG in the past decade.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but any special symbol.

Those show up very often during base game, and often contribute to some small wins. However we are looking for the triggers as that’s where the big prizes are.

• Hold & Spin: Whenever 6 or more special symbols land on the gameboard this feature is triggered. It starts with 3 spins where the triggering symbols are locked and the rest of the positions respin. If a symbol lands the respins reset back to 3. During spinning the symbols can contain cash prizes or jackpots. During the spins, multipliers can show up on each position. If there’s a multiplier already they add up.

If the feature was triggered with a moon trigger, there would be one pretty big symbol in terms of cash prize.

In some cases it’s more than one moon symbol, and the prizes are usually 10x+ as it forms by collecting the rest of the prizes on the board, plus its initial prize. Overall very poor trigger rate where you’d be spinning for a long time before you actually see anything, which makes the game kind of boring.

• Buy Feature: If the player wishes to skip the waiting game and buy the Hold & Spin feature they can do so for a calculated cost.

The cost is 37x and the symbols that will land to trigger the feature are chosen at random. Honestly considering how poor the organic trigger rate is, I can see players opting in for this.

Verdict

Is Crimson Castle worth your time? I would say not at all, considering the slot has only one feature and that feature shows up very rarely.

If you are going to put a single feature in 2026, in a slot with medium volatility, at least make sure the player is entertained during base game with frequent triggers or some form of collect feature or anything else.

Having jackpots that only play when the Hold & Spin features is not ideal either.

Overall I disliked the game, it was one of the most boring RTG slots I’ve ever had my hands on.
