The game is a reskin of the popular 3 Lucky Hippos, which was released a year ago with an incredible success and max prize of 5,000x.
While the slot is a few weeks away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino has it exclusively in their Early Access library, so anyone wanting to play it ahead of time knows where to find it.
Slot Design
3 Glittery Diamonds has the standard 5×3 gameboard with 5 reels, 3 rows but random paylines ranging from 243 to 7,776.
The slot’s RTP is 96.00%, the volatility2 has been set to VERY HIGH and the hit rate 27.43%
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, with the max prize being capped at 5,000x the bet.
PearFiction Studios has a decent bet menu, though we’d like to see them transition into an entirely one click menu where all of the available wager options are on the screen and all the player has to do is select one. The min max buttons are fine.
The settings menu is actually quite nice with multiple sound options, volume sliders, two different spin methods, hotkeys and some additional settings for winnings.
Overall the slot has kept the same UI, graphic style and layout as the original slot, but has introduced a more classic theme, for those who might not enjoy hippos that much.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but diamond, split, pot and cash symbols.
During our gameplay we did not see this symbol that often, but it’s not really an important feature, as what you are looking for is the collect feature and/or triggering the Lock’n’Win.
- Collect Feature: This feature triggers whenever there are cash prizes on the spin with a collect symbol in reel 5.
This feature can bring great payout on a single spin, and it’s the bread and butter of the slot during base game. Despite the very high volatility we saw this feature trigger often enough to remain entertained.
- Split Symbols: There’s a horizontal reel that spins whenever you spin the normal 5 reels. This reel can land split symbols above each vertical reel and determine the number of rows and therefore the total amount of paylines.
On this spin we had landed split symbols on reels 1, 4 and 5 with values 6, 4 and 6 respectively where our total amount of paylines was 1296. The split symbol plays a big role in getting those big payouts.
- Bonus Symbols: Every now and then a bonus symbol can land on any of the reels and will be kept on the bottom of the reel as a diamond symbol.
On the screen above we had already landed symbols on reel 1, 2 and 4, awaiting reels 3 and 5 in order to trigger the Lock’n’Win feature with all 3 perks active.
- Lock’n’Win Feature: This feature is a pretty standard Link and Win feature where the trigger however occurs randomly from one of the 3 different diamond symbols, blue, red or yellow. The player starts with 3 respins, where landing and cash prize or jackpot will reset the count back to 3.
When the red diamond triggers this feature and the multiplier feature is active, the multiplier from base game is carried over. At the end of the feature the winnings are multiplied by it. The multiplier is accumulated during base game and can go up to 10x.
When the feature is triggered via the supreme yellow diamond, two new symbols can land a blue diamond which collects all red diamonds on the spot, and a yellow diamond which collects all blue and red diamonds.
Triggering the feature from the blue diamond gives access to all jackpots which can be awarded after accumulating the required tokens. Micro 10x requires 2 tokens, Mini 20x requires 3 tokens, Mino 100x requires 4 tokens, Major 500x requires 5 tokens and Mega 5,000x requires 6 tokens. This feature can trigger multiple features at once.
- Buy Feature: If for any reason the player does not want to wait for any of the Lock’n’Win triggers they can purchase them for a calculated cost.
The costs are different depending on the features, and the amount of triggered features starting from roughly 26x to 81x. We bought a few just to see what happens and we did not break even on any of them. Given the very high volatility this was to be expected and it’s quite random and luck dependent.
Verdict
3 Glittery Diamonds is a brand new slot coming on March 12th 2025, and is a reskin of 3 Lucky Hippos offering the exact same features.
The game keeps the same very high volatility, with collect prizes, bonus and split symbols and a link and win feature.
Overall there’s nothing different in this slot, but the original was a huge success, so we expect this one to be as well, especially for those players who didn’t get a chance to play 3 Lucky Hippos.
While the slot is a few weeks away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino has it exclusively, so if you’d like to play it, you know where to go.
