Area Cash Heist Slot Review

Slot Details

Area Cash Heist is an online slot, developed by Area Vegas Games, powered by Microgaming online casinos, scheduled to be released on April 18th 2024.

However currently the slot is available on Yukon Gold Casino, under the Early Releases section and will allow players of the casino enjoy the game almost 2 months before the official release.

The slot uses the same engine as Area Cash Thor, a slot that was released in early November 2023.

Area Cash Heist has the regular 5×3 gameboard, which has 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines.

However in each position in this slot counts as a reel so in total there are 15 reels, which is stated in the payline menu.

The slot’s RTP is 96.45%, the volatility is set to MEDIUM and the hit rate is 34.03%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 50.00$, a range that Area Vegas has used for quite a while now.

The bet menu is perfect, allowing players to select their desired wager with a single click, which we believe is becoming the new standard.

The slot has no other menus but the autoplay menu where you can select auto spins up to a 100, and turn on quick spins as well.

This menu is accessible when you hold the left mouse button on top of the spin button on the right of the gameboard.

The only downside is the sound and music which are bundled up, so you can’t turn them off separately but all together.

Overall the UI is very well done, but the symbols are a bit too simplistic to the point that they look low effort, which is something unusual for a slot from Area Vegas Games.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wild in this slot can only land in the middle section of the slot, and will substitute for all symbols but prize symbols. The wild can land with a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier as well and will trigger an Area Cash feature if it lands simultaneously with a prize symbol on the board.

When the wild lands all cash prizes that are on the board are immediately collected. Because of the triggering role the Wild symbol plays in this slot, you won’t be seeing it all the time, in fact it shows up rarely.

• Area Cash with Surge Spin: If a Wild lands in the center with not a single prize symbol around, there’s a chance that the surging spin is activated.

A random number of respins will respin and prize symbols are guaranteed to land. We were extremely lucky to land 2 jackpots on the respin and get ourselves a roughly 120x on a single spin. This is quite rare however and during our extensive testing, we never saw a similar win again. This feature comes with a safety fail, and if after 3 landings it hasn’t triggered it will trigger on the 4th guaranteed. The green symbol has 3 progress bars and will show at what stage you are at.

• Area Cash with Power Prize: If you land a Wild with one or two prizes the Power Prize feature can trigger. A random number of reels will respin and the Power prize symbols are always guaranteed to be jackpots.

We had those on two positions and the spun a few times until they landed on the minimum Mini 5x jackpot. The feature comes with a safety fail, if after 3 landings it does not trigger it’s guaranteed that it will trigger on the 4th. There are mini bars inside the purple symbol on the top of the board that shows the progress.

• Free Spins: If the Wild lands with a Free Spin symbol on the board, 8 free spins are triggered. During this feature the center always lands a wild, and it was quite common that it had a multiplier as well.

We triggered the surging spins and power spins several times, were awarded a few mini jackpots and our overall payout was 92.7x, which is quite good for a medium volatile slot.

During our testing the Free Spins appeared to be the most lucrative feature of the slot, so triggering it would always net plenty of winnings. If a free spins symbol lands during this feature an extra 5 spins are added.

• Pick Feature: This feature triggers at random from the landed cash prizes during base game. To trigger this feature it will take several hundred spins, perhaps even thousands.

You have to open boxes until you match one of the 4 jackpots and then it will be awarded. Naturally it’s weighted towards the lower ones and we only got the MINI 5x one. Quite disappointing for a feature that you will almost never see.

Verdict

Area Cash Heist is as fun as the previous slot of these series Area Cash Thor and we expect it to be just as popular.

The medium volatility guaranteed that the features trigged quite often, and we did not have any “dry” periods at all.

The game’s official release is in mid April, but players registered at Yukon Gold Casino, can play it as the slot is exclusively available there under Early Releases.
