The slot is a sequel to Dark Waters II Power Combo, released in August of 2025, which on itself was a sequel to the original Dark Waters Power Combo Slot released in February 2024.
Though the slot is more than a month away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino, Canada’s Top online casino, has it early and exclusively in their library.
Slot Design
Dark Waters III Power Combo The Cursed Voyage has a larger 6×4 gameboard, with 6 reels 4 row and 4096 fixed paylines.
All 3 slots have the same size gameboard and paylines as well as that 96.00% RTP and HIGH volatility.
In terms of the hit rate, the first one had 26.47%, the second one had 30.98% and this one has 30.39%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, with max win capped at 5,000x.
The best bet menu we have seen in a while with all the wager options available to the player in a single click. At the same time the game has no settings menu, and the only additional menu is the Autoplay.
Up to a 100 spins, with the sound mute button in the top right of the menu, without any music/sound options and the quick spins are available directly in the gameboard.
The UI is almost identical to the first two slots with the big difference, a progression meter on the left above the jackpots. Overall no change was needed towards the visuals, so none were made, if anything they were improved.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but prize, collect and bonus symbols.
While these do help occasionally, during our testing we didn’t really see them that often and it wasn’t the thing we were looking for during base game.
- Base Game Progression Meter: During base game, a total of 6 perks can be unlocked each 50 spins. There are a total of 6 perks to be unlocked, 3 for base game and 3 for bonus free spins.
After 300 spins, when all features are active the slot becomes even more interesting as the player can randomly trigger giant reels to get 46,656 paylines. The other two perks are golden reels randomly activated and an extra collect symbol on the reels. The bonus spins perks are that all features star from minimum level 2.
When the perk is unlocked it will show a splash on the screen for a second. Overall these perks are nice when they show up and often bring change to the gameplay as well.
- Collect Feature: During the base game and free spins cash prizes show up on the reels and can be collected by the collect symbol on reel 5. If the 3rd base game perk is unlocked a 2nd collect symbol is also unlocked.
This feature shows up often enough and it’s what we were looking for during base game and bonus spins. The values of the prizes vary between 0.5x and 10x. With the additional collector, sometimes we’ve got around 30x on a single spin as a payout.
- Progression Token: Just like the previous versions of the slot, the progression tokens are the diamonds below the chests at the top of the gameboard.
The progression tokens upgrade the features where each feature has 4 levels. At max level, the Giant Reels give 262,144 payouts, the Golden Reels fill 4 reels of tokens, while the stack collect gives 6 collect symbols total.
These bonuses are only active for the bonus spins and do not apply for the base game.
- Free Spins Power Combo: Every time a bonus symbol lands there’s a chance to trigger 10 free spins and an active feature. If 2 or more features are active, an extra 3 spins will be awarded per non-active feature.
A giant reel feature is active here at level 1 with just 5 rows and a total of 15,626 paylines. The game plays pretty much identically as base game, and the extra payways didn’t really contribute that much. Our overall winnings were around 30x.
Because this is a Power Combo slot, two or more features can be active at the same time, and on this trigger we had the stacked collect symbols and the golden reels. Both features were at level 2 only. The golden reels can contain one of the 4 jackpots, Mini 15,x Minor 40x, Major 200x, and Mega 5,000x.
- Paid Features: The diamond icon in the top right corner has some paid features.
Bonus hunt costs 50% of the total bet, but it supposedly boosts the Bonus Spins trigger more than 2x. A boost to trigger more coins and collect symbols costs 15x, the 70x choice is triggering free spins with a random amount of features at a random level. The most expensive 100x options guarantees 2 to 3 features at random level. We were never fans of these features, especially in the previous slot where one of those cost 400x.
Verdict
Is Dark Waters III Power Combo The Cursed Voyage worth your time? Yes, especially if you’ve enjoyed any of the previous 2 slots.
This one still comes with a lower max prize than the original, capped at 5,000x, instead of the 6,250x, but offers nice features and now a progress bar with 6 different perks, becoming fully functional after only 300 spins.
As the last time, we are not happy about the paid features that cost 70x and 100x, and the reason being they are too expensive, with random outcomes whether or not the player breaks even and it defies the whole purpose of even playing the slot.
They did get rid of the uber expensive one of 400x, so at least we are thankful for that.
Though the slot is more than a month away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino, has the slot early and exclusively in their library.
