Día de los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead”, is a Mexican holiday celebrated on 2nd of November.

The purpose is to honour the memory of loved ones and come together with close family and friends.

Celebrants paint colourful skulls on their faces and wear eye-catching outfits, with this style of imagery incorporated in Real Time Gaming’s (RTG) Diamond Fiesta slot.

Diamond Fiesta is a lively example of why RTG casino sites are now receiving some of the best-designed artwork available in video slots.

Cartoon visuals seem to be a niche for RTG, with Diamond Fiesta situated in a bright Mexican town that looks like a fairy tale.

• Senor Skeleton Wilds: Senor Skeleton wears a red sombrero and suit while playing the guitar. He can appear as a wild symbol on reels two, three, four, and five.

This symbols shows up very often so expect to see it on almost every spin to help you complete a winning combination.

• Scatters: the Skulls aren’t as helpful as the scatters in other slots, though can deliver a 100x payout if five can be combined on one payline.

• Diamond Feature: this is the main event of the special features and can be launched if six or more diamond symbols land anywhere in view. Three re-spins are provided and the triggering diamonds are locked in place.

• Jackpot Diamond: if diamonds land in all four corners of the screen, the grid can be expanded in size up to eight reels by four rows. Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots can be won from 1x up to 50x (please note: they aren’t progressive).

We managed to land the minor jackpot and our overall payout was roughly 74x on the feature.

Verdict

Diamond Fiesta is one of the best RTG slots to release in 2020.

The visuals are charming and the music is fun – plus, it’s compatible on Android, iOS, or desktop.

There’s a reasonable 96.00% RTP and four jackpot tiers to play for in a bonus round where the reels can expand.

However the maximum win is undisclosed, and the features offered are nothing new, so it might get tedious quite quickly.
