The slot is a sequel to the very popular Gold Rush Express which came out in June 2023 and topped the charts for most popular slot for several months.
In this one the players will spin the reels for diamonds rather than gold, and will be hunting a max prize up to 5,000x the bet.

Slot Design
Diamond Rush Express has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard with 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines.
The slot’s RTP is 96.49%, the volatility is set to HIGH and the hit rate is 29.39%.
The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, a range Area Vegas has used on most of their slots.
The bet menu they had chosen from the very beginning is the style we’ve embraced forever as it allows the players to select their desired wager with one simple click.
The other menu, is accessible if you hold down the left click on the spin button on the right side of the gameboard.
It allows you to turn on the quick spins, as well as adjust the wager with a slider even if you decide to close this menu, the selection will persist.
There are no audio options, excluding the speaker icon on the bottom right which only allows for a complete sound mute, which isn’t ideal as you may hate the music but still want to hear the basic sounds of the slot.
In terms of visuals the slot remains almost unchanged from the previous one released in 2023, but with the addition of the diamond symbol.
Slot Features
- Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but bonus, rush express, diamond multiplier, bell and gold train symbols.
This symbol shows up quite often, but from we’ve seen rarely contributes to any significant wins, and most of them are below the bet value.
- Pick Feature: Whenever you land diamond nuggets on the gameboard, at the end of each spin they can randomly trigger the Pick feature. Matching 3 icons will award the corresponding jackpot from the left side: Mini 20x, Minor 50x, Major 500x, and Grand 5,000x.
This is an extremely rare feature just like in the previous slot and it takes several hundred spins before you actually see it. We only got the Minor jackpot which is 10x, and makes the wait not worth at all.
The slot makes it interesting by allowing you to open almost all nuggets with Grand and Major being one symbol away from hitting that jackpot.
- Rush Express Feature: Bell and Gold Train symbols appear only on reel 5. Whenever a Rush Express symbol shows on the reels and a Gold Train or Bell symbol land on reel 5 this feature is triggered. The train above the gameboard starts moving with a bunch of prizes on the wagons which are collected by the Rush express symbol. At the end of the train run, all gold nugget prizes plus the Rush Express value are collected.
Different colors represent different different value prizes, where the Purple and Red train would have the highest possible values. In our case it was a Blue train, and our total payout on this spin was 18x with 4x coming from the gold nuggets.
- Diamond Multipliers: Whenever Diamond symbols land they can have 2x, 3x or 5x multipliers. This multiplier would apply to all on-screen prizes if a Rush Express feature is triggered. If such feature is not triggered, the diamond is collected as normal.
This multiplier came in together with a Rush Express feature after perhaps seven hundred spins, so don’t hold your breath for this feature. In fact why even call the slot Diamond Rush Express when this is so rare and hard to see?
- Free Spins: When the number of collected diamonds is less than a 100, 3 dynamite bonus symbols trigger 10 normal free spins. The Rush Express feature occurs more frequently during free spins.
We did not manage to trigger any Rush Express feature, but did land the bell twice, which gave us a few good prizes and our total payout was 18x.
- Diamond Free Spins: When the amount of collected diamonds is 100 or more, the Diamond Free Spins are triggered when 3 dynamite bonus symbols land on the reels. A Bell or Gold Train is guaranteed to land on every spin, though that does not guarantee a Rush Express feature. Collecting a 100 diamonds takes a while so this feature will not be seen for several hundred spins.
It took over a thousand spins to collect the 100 diamonds and the 10 free spins gave us a 73x payout. While that’s great, it way too many spins to actually get this feature.
Verdict
While we loved Gold Rush Express and the players enjoyed it as well, we are not sure they will feel the same about Diamond Rush Express.
The slot emphasizes on the Diamonds, but the slot is realistically just the Gold Rush Express with 2 new features that will show up so rarely that for many players they won’t ever trigger.
Why name a slot Diamond Rush Express if you are going to lock the whole theme behind hundreds and hundreds of spins?
If you enjoy the previous slot and want that extra chance at the diamond features, then yes this game would be an improvement, but if you think you will be enjoying the new diamond features right away, you are mistaken.
