Pretty standard RTG layout, where the payline info is on the bottom left, the quick spins, the max bet and autoplay in the middle and the settings menu on the right.

The settings include a music and sound options, allowing players to turn them on and off separately, as well as a hotkey for spinning.

Overall the UI and symbol look clean and the animations are very well done, smooth and polished.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this slot, substitute for all symbols but coin symbols.

You would see these symbols quite often, and occasionally they will complete a win.

• Red Mystery Envelope Feature: After any base spin, this feature can be triggered. It awards a multiplier prize that will be added to the spin winnings.

This feature triggers quite rarely, and at first we were unsure whether or not there’s any visual indication of it. However after a few hundred spins, it triggered and we saw a 20x multiplier.

• Hold and Spin Feature: This feature can randomly trigger, when you land a blue, red or green coin on the gameboard. Depending on which color triggers the feature, the perks will be different. The feature starts with 3 respins, so essentially is a Link&Win feature. Landing another coin resets the respins back to 3.
  • Red symbol: Trigger the Jackpot Pick feature
  • Blue symbol: Awards Grand Feature, where 6 coins will be randomly placed and locked.
  • Green symbol: Awards the Regal feature, where the gameboard becomes 5×4 and the feature starts with 8 coins locked in place.
  • Blue + Green symbols: Awards a Majestic Feature, where the gameboard becomes 5×5 and the feature starts with 10 coins locked in.
  • Red + Blue symbols: Awards an Epic Feature, which starts with 6 coins locked in.
  • Red + Green symbols: Awards a Legendary Feature, which starts with 8 coins locked in, where the gameboard becomes 5×4.
  • Red + Green + Blue symbols: Awards Mythical Feature, which starts with 10 coins locked in, and your gameboard is 5×5.

During our trigger we couldn’t tell which feature we triggered it was either a Majestic or Mythical, since our gameboard was 5×5. Landing a green coin awarded all multipliers to the total. After the addition, the green symbol became a gold symbol. The multiplier applied to the base bet, which from what we could see is 0.50$, when the max total bet is 10.00$. If all 15 positions are filled the Grand Jackpot which is 1,250x is awarded.

Verdict

Great Golden Lion is an online slot which finally brings some of the modern slot features into the RTG slot world.

The Link&Win feature we are so used to seeing in Apricot slots, is finally here, but under a different name.

In addition there is a Red Envelope feature which randomly awards a multiplier, added to your total spin winnings.

The slot’s menu suggests that during the feature the maximum winnings are 3,750x the base bet, which from what we saw during the feature is 0.50$.

Considering the Grand Jackpot is 1,250x we believe that is the max win of the slot, as it would make no sense for a single spin to be 3x higher than if you would fill all 15 positions.

Either way the max win is quite low, the slot is highly volatile, and an Asian theme, a few days before Halloween is a bit odd.
