Hermes Bonanza is an online slot, developed by Wishbone Games, powered by Microgaming online casinos, released in later November 2023.

This is the studio’s fourth slot, not counting the different variations of their previous slots, themed after the Greek god Hermes, where players will spin the reels for prizes up to 2,100x the bet.

Hermes Bonanza online slot has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.22%, the variance is set to MEDIUM and the hit rating is 12.25%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.10$, while the maximum bet reaches a 100.00$, making this slot ideal for literally all players out there.

The bet menu or more like wager window does not have any quality of life for players so you would have to be clicking a lot in order to select your desired bet.

The overall UI looks a bit weird positioned on the bottom rather than on the side of the slot, but hey it’s a new developer studio, they are still ironing things out.

The quality of the symbols is pretty mediocre and has been in the previous slots as well, so hopefully we will see improvement in this department soon.

The settings menu is something that’s done right with sounds and music option being on separate options, and there’s also a volume adjuster on the gameboard.

The autoplay feature allows us to select up to a 100 spins and when they are finished, it pops automatically for a 100 more.

One thing that’s confusing is that the spin button become a stop button, but you can’t stop the autoplay from there, but rather from the little stop button next to it.

Overall we are not pleased with the quality of this slot, especially for a product released at the end of 2023.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The Wild in this slot is the Hermes symbol, which substitutes for all symbols but scatters. This symbol also serves as a collect symbol, instantly collecting any scroll prizes you may have on your screen.

Please note that the final 24x value on the wild symbol is in result of the scrolls collected and is not on top of what’s collected. While the total payout may look like 48x, it’s 24x from the 4 different scrolls collected. The scroll symbols can form a winning combination if there’s no wild present.

The biggest win we saw was a big 54x on a single spin just from scroll symbols on all reels. Unfortunately the wild symbol shows very rarely to collect anything on the board, around twice every 100 spins. It’s fair to say that if you get lucky with the scrolls however, the payouts are always worth the wait.

• Free Spins: Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters in this slot, awards 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. The free spins have a multiplier trail, where every 4th landed wild, you will receive 10 extra free spins and line multipliers from 2x, 3x and 10x.

After landing a wild, you will receive an extra free spin. When you reach the 3rd and final tier, the feature becomes unavailable. During our first trigger we had 3 scatters and received and extra 2 wilds for a total of 12 free spins. Our overall payout was 32.5x. The other triggers were not much better, getting only 2 or 3 wilds and an overall payout between 20x-40x.

Verdict

Hermes Bonanza is a slot that we would definitely advise players to stay away from.

The game lacks some basic quality of life features, any modern design in terms of symbols, has very few features, which trigger quite rarely.

While we understand that this developer studio has been around for only a year, it’s 2023 and the games should be decent looking, engaging and fun.

This one fails in all 3 components, and has been released around some slot hits like Mr. Pigg E Bank, 9 Enchanted Beans which makes it even harder.
