Links Of Ra II is an online slot a sequel to the popular Links Of Ra, developed by Slingshot Studios, powered by Microgaming online casinos, scheduled to be released on April 9th 2024.

Though it’s more than a month away from an official release, Yukon Gold Casino has been granted exclusive rights over the game and have it live under Early Releases.

Links Of Ra II has the same gameboard as its predecessor a 5×4 with 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.05%, the volatility is set to HIGH, and the hit rate is 34.10%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet reaches 25.00$, which is 5.00$ above the limit of the previous game.

As we guessed in our Links Of Ra review the bet menu has been changed from coins and coin sizes to a modern menu with all bet presets available for selection with a simple click.

The menu above the spin button reveals the autoplay button as well as the quick spin option. The settings of the game can be located from the three dots below the spin button and then clicking on the cogwheel.

The settings only have mute sound option, meaning we can’t turn music or sounds individually, something that would be an improvement.

Overall the slot has received a facelift in terms of symbols and gameboard, but the UI has been kept nearly identical.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wild in this slot substitutes for all symbols but scatters and coin symbols.

This symbol will show up very often during your base gameplay and will participate in completing various win combinations.

• Power Stacks: Symbols can randomly power stack on a single spin. All symbols but wilds and scatters can be power stacked. In free spins Wilds and Coins are the only symbols that can be stacked.

Depending on where the symbols are stacked, they can form some very lucrative winning combinations.

While stacks of this size are very rare, they do show up here and there and are quite rewarding, as the example above, 50x on a single spin.

• Ultra Link&Win Feature: The feature triggers when 6 or more coin symbols land on a single spin. The triggering symbols are locked in place, and the feature starts with 3 respins. In addition the feature starts with 3 locked rows. If the key symbol lands, a row will be unlocked.

We did start with 3 locked rows but two of the triggering symbols on row 2 were keys so they were unlocked right away, and on the first spin we landed a third key and unlocked all rows.

At this point you have noticed that above the gameboard there’s a meter. Landing 4-5 coins during base game fills that meter and will allow the player to enter this feature in one of its 3 modes. The first mode unlocks all 3 additional rows, the second mode starts with 3 additional unlocked rows and a guaranteed persistent 2x multiplier coin, the third mode also starts with 3 unlocked rows and includes guaranteed Persistent Cash Collect Booster Coin.

The Cash Collect Booster Coin, collects the cash value of all landed symbols on each spin, while the multiplier coin will randomly multiply the cash prize of up to 4 coins

This is a very rewarding mode, and our overall payout was 143x. The jackpot symbols land with a minimum amount of spins before they are awarded. In this screen we had 1 remaining spin and 1 spin left so we did receive the Minor jackpot which is 50x. The Mini one is 15x, the Major one is 500x and the Grand one is 5,000x.

The cash collect mode is also very rewarding where the collect coin is added later on to the total amount of coins. Our payout on this mode was 120x.

The red heart symbol gives you an additional spin once you reach 0 respins.

• Collection Pot Feature: During base game landing Eye of Ra coins on reel 5 will be collected by the pot on the left.

At some point this will randomly trigger a collect feature where you would spin a wheel and get one of the 4 jackpots on your left.

The wheel spins counter clockwise and we landed the mini jackpot, on the slot right above the Grand jackpot. We waited for this feature to trigger for over 500 hundred spins.

• Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters will grant 10 free spins. During free spins all Wilds and Coins are power stacked on each spin.

We saw a lot of stacked Wilds and this is where most of your winnings will come from during the free spins. Our overall payout was roughly 35x.

• Buy Feature: If you do not wish to wait to trigger any of the Link&Win features, you can purchase them for a calculated cost.

The cost for plain Link&Win feature with all 3 additional rows locked is 40x, with all 3 unlocked rows 80x, with all 3 unlocked rows and a persistent multiplier coin 110x, and with all 3 unlocked rows and persistent cash collect symbol 165x.

Verdict

Links Of Ra II is a worthy successor of one of the most popular slots for the past 2 years.

The game comes with polished menus, better looking symbols and tons of additional features, compared to the original.

The max win has been reduced to 10,000x, but the amount of features and their trigger rate makes up for that.

The Ultra Link&Win feature feels really great especially with the multiplier and cash collect modes, the jackpots are a wonderful addition as they can be won in different ways.

The free spins with power stacks were also quite fun, and our only concern was the trigger rate of the collect jackpot feature as it took hundreds of spins to see it.

This great sequel will officially be released in April 2024, but it’s currently live on Yukon Gold Casino as an Early Release.
