Locked Archer has the standard 5×3 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.00% and its volatility is set to HIGH.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.25$, while the maximum bet reaches 25.00$, the usual range for RTG slots.

RTG has no separate menu, but allows players to adjust their wager with up and down buttons, as well as a max bet button.

In addition the UI has an autoplay button, and a quick spin button which is on the opposite side, left of the spin button.

The settings menu nested in the hamburger menu on the right has the standard RTG options, where both sound and music are on separate channels and can be turned off individually.

Overall everything is the same as previous slots, with visuals, symbols and sounds remaining very well done, which is an RTG trademark.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this slot substitute for all symbols but locking scatters and free spins scatters.

This symbol will show up quite often during spins and will help you complete winnings, some of which can get up to 10x, at least that’s what we saw over a thousand spins.

• Locking Scatter with Re-spins: This feature triggers when 2 or more archer symbols show up between reels 1-4 during base game. When 2 scatters land on reels 1 to 2, those reels will be locked and reels 3,4 and 5 will get 1 respin. When 3 scatters land on reels 1 to 3, those reels will be locked and reels 4 and 5 get 2 respins. When 4 scatters land on reels 1 to 4, those get reels get locked and reel 5 gets 3 respins.

This feature works only from left to right, so it has to start from reel 1 onwards. For a feature which the slot was named after, it triggers way too low to even count it as a feature. We saw it no more than 4 times in over 300 spins, which is weird considering that it did not add that much overall as most payout were 2x or 3x.

• Free Spins with Multipliers: When 3 of the house symbols (scatters) land during the base game, they trigger 10 free spins. During every spin the player is awarded with random 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x multiplier. This feature can be retriggered.

This feature triggers often enough but the payouts vary a lot because of the high volatility. During our triggers several times we did not manage to get even a 10x out of it.

Verdict

Locking Archer feels like a slot with wasted potential, as the game has the graphics and the visuals, but lacks features and trigger rates.

The feature which this slot is named after barely shows up, which makes us question why bother to even have it.

The free spins with random multiplier are nice, but the high volatility makes the whole experience hit or miss.

Overall nothing to look forward to during base game, and the only hope for something more lucrative is the free spins.
