Slot Design

Planet of the ‘Roos has the standard 5×3 gameboard, with 5 reels, 3 row and 25 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is 96.00%, the volatility is set to MEDIUM, and the hit rate is undisclosed.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.25$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 12.50$, making the slot ideal for those looking for low wagering slots.

Planet of the 'Roos Slot Review

As usual, there’s no real bet menu, but just an adjusting buttons on the bottom of the gameboard, with a max bet button.

The quick spins are positioned on the left of the spin button, while the autoplay feature is positioned on the right of it.

The settings menu, located at the bottom right, allows us to turn off the sound and music separately, and turn on the spacebar to act as the spin button.

Overall the UI is identical as all RTG slots, but it’s skinned to suit the theme of the slot, while the symbols are decent, but nothing fancy.

Slot Features

  • Wilds: The wild in this slot substitute for all symbols but scatters and bonus symbols.

The symbol will show up quite often to help complete winning combinations.

  • Free Spins: Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters will award 5, 7 or 10 free spins respectively. During this feature reels 2, 3 and 4 are transformed into an oversized symbol. If an oversized scatters shows up alone, the player is awarded 3 extra spin. If the oversized scatter appears with one other on reels 1 or 5, 4 extra spins are granted. If an oversized scatter shows up with 1 scatter on each reel 1 and 5 show up, 5 extra spins are granted.

Though the payout was over a 100x, it took us roughly 450 spins to trigger this feature once, but then it showed up once again on the next 50 spins, with a much smaller payout of 30x. The trigger rates of the free spins felt like high volatility slot for sure.

  • Hold&Win: This feature is the equivalent of the Link&Win on Microgaming casinos. Essentially during the base game when 6 or more bonus symbols land, this feature is triggered. The triggering symbols are held in place, while the rest of the positions respin. The player starts with 3 respins and whenever a new symbol lands, the respins reset.

According to the payline menu, if you fill all 15 positions, the Grand Jackpot is awarded, but what is it? Where is it? There’s no information about it, so we can only guess what the value of it is. Considering the max win is 75,000x bet per line, at max bet 12.50$ and 25 lines, that 0.50$ per line, the total would be 37,500$, which comes to 3,000x but this is just a guess. Hello, RTG next time at least display it somewhere or mention it. (Updated Feb 23rd, 2024: After reporting this to RTG the Grand Jackpot information has been added and it’s 1,000x).

The feature triggered with several multiplier and a mini jackpot, and out total payout was 33x, which was decent but it took more than 200 spins to see this feature.

Planet of the ‘Roos is advertised as a medium volatility slot, but to us it felt like high or very high as for close to 500 spins we did not trigger a single feature.

Both the Free Spins and Hold&Win features seem to trigger quite rarely, though both were very lucrative as well.

Some of the information is missing, like the value of the Grand Jackpot, in case you fill all 15 positions during the Hold&Win.

You can’t announce a Grand cash prize and then not show it anywhere or even mention the value of it. If we assumed it’s the max possible win in the game, it has to be 3,000x, as the 75,000x max win per bet per line is 0.50$, which comes to 37,500$, which is exactly 3,000x on 12.50$ max total bet. (Updated Feb 23rd, 2024: After reporting this to RTG the Grand Jackpot information has been added and it’s 1,000x).

This is just a guess, and we are not aware of what the actual value is, and we shouldn’t be guessing, come on RTG you are not a new studio.

This review includes a free to play demo for anyone to try, but our verdict is not worth anyone’s time, and low effort from RTG.
