Wonder Reels has an odd gameboard with 3×3 base gameboard, which can expand to 2 extra positions on reel 2 and row 2 essentially.

The slot has 3 reels and 3 rows and 27 paylines which can expand to 45 paylines with the extra positions get activated.

The RTP is 96.00%, the slot volatility is HIGH and the hit rate is undisclosed.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.20$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 20.00$, a range RTG has been using a lot lately.

The UI still doesn’t have a bet menu, but it’s the same old familiar interface with the adjusting buttons and a max bet button.

The settings menu is accessible from the bottom right, which contains the same 3 options as always, which are sound and music options and a hotkey for the spin button.

Overall a clean UI, familiar for anyone who’s played RTG slots, but this time a bit of a fancy gameboard with a classic theme, something we haven’t seen around for a while.

Slot Features

• Wilds: The wilds in this slot can only show up in the 3×3 mainboard. The symbols substitute for all symbols but scatters and diamonds.

During our testing we saw a lot of wild symbols but they rarely contributed to any big wins mostly because this classic slot has very few symbols and almost everything is locked behind the diamonds and free spins. However after 300 spins we did manage to land a 80x win with 2 wilds.

• Free Spins: Landing 3 scatter symbols anywhere on the symbol board will trigger 10 free spins.

After close to 400 spins, we managed to trigger this feature, which expands the gameboard to 45 ways for the remainder of the feature. This however did not contribute to anything substantial and our total payout was only 6x.

• Jackpot Re-Spin: Landing 5 or more diamonds anywhere on the gameboard will trigger the jackpot respin feature. The prizes for 5-12 diamonds on the board range from 5x to 500x. The table is: 5 diamonds = 5x; 6 diamonds = 7x; 7 diamonds = 15x; 8 diamonds = 50x; 9 diamonds = 100x; 10 diamonds = 200x; 11 diamonds = 250x; 12 diamonds = 500x.

We managed to land our first respin feature after close to 200 spins and it was a trigger from 7 diamonds. We did not land any extra diamonds so our total payout was 15x.

• Way Booster: Any winning combinations trigger this feature unless it’s a free spin trigger.

This feature is active quite often and it awards you a free extra spin on the 45 ways, and then resets back to 27 ways. Sequential winnings do not extend this feature and after the respin, the feature is over.

Verdict

Wonder Reels is a decent classic themed slot brought to us by RTG, with an interesting gameboard.

The base game is 3×3 with 27 payways, which after a winning combination expands to 45 ways with 4 extra unlocked positions, an a free spin.

Once that triggers the game goes back to the original 27 payways until another win shows up on the gameboard.

In addition to this feature, there’s a diamond feature which can award up to a 500x jackpot for landing 12 diamonds.

Landing 3 scatters will award 10 free spins and unlock 45 payways for the remainder of the feature.

Overall a decent slot with a twist on the classic theme, but the high volatility made it feel a bit “dry” at times.
