Mega Magic Spell online slot has a slightly bigger 5×4 gameboard, consisting of 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines.

The slot’s RTP is set to 96.08%, the volatility is HIGH and the hit rate is 29.45%.

The minimum bet per spin starts from 0.10$, while the maximum bet per spin reaches 50.00$, making the slot ideal for a wide range of players.

The bet menu can be accessed from the chip icon on the right, and will allow you to select a few preset bets, set the slot to max bet, or adjust the wager via two buttons, which isn’t exactly ideal.

Overall the studio is sticking to this style as in their previous slots Gem Fire Frenzy, Sugar Craze Bonanza and Golden Dragons.

The UI remains the same with the quick spins, autoplay and settings being on the right, and the spin button, turning into a close button when you open a menu.

The visuals are very well done, the animations are smooth as well, two departments where Hammertime Games are quite good at.

Slot Features

• Jackpots: There are 4 jackpots displayed on the left side of the gameboard, which can be randomly won at any time during any spin. Each jackpot increases when its matching symbol lands on the board. The matching symbols show on reels 1,2,3 and 4 and this can happen only during base game. The Jackpots values are Mini 5x (max 50x), Minor 10x (max 100x), Major 20x (max 500x) and Mega 100x (max 5000x).

The jackpot symbols land often enough to increase the jackpots, during our testing we won the mini one several times, at values around 6x – 11x.

As expected the jackpots wins are weighted, where the lower value jackpots will trigger a lot more often than any of the higher value ones.

• Collect Feature: This feature is available during base game and free spins. Coin symbols can land on the gameboard, with values from 1x to 25x. When they land on the board in combination with a collect symbol the values from the coins on that spin are collected. The collect symbol can only land on reel 5, and during free spins it has extra features.

During our testing this feature was triggered quite rarely, perhaps once or twice every 100 spins and the cash prizes were not that great. Obviously the high volatility plays a major role here.

• Free Spins: Landing each scatter on each reel will trigger the free spins. The feature starts with 10 free spins and every scatter landed in combination with a collect symbol on reel 5, adds +1 extra spin. During the free spins extra collect symbols are added with extra features.

One of the special collect symbols adds an additional cash value to the coin symbols that land. From what we saw it randomly picks a value between 2x and 10x and applies on top of the amount you have landed.

The other special collect symbol is a multiplier, and it randomly awards a multiplier between 2x and 10x, in our case we landed a 5x. During our testing we saw that if you want high winnings during free spins landing this symbol is a must or don’t expect much from the free spins at all. A bit flawed as the whole feature revolves one special symbol. With over a 1,000 spins in this slot we never saw free spin winnings above 20x, when this multiplier symbol didn’t show up.

• Wilds: The Wilds in this slot can replace all symbols, but scatter, jackpot, collect and coin symbols.

You will encounter this symbol quite often and will aid you to complete winning combinations usually around 4x-10x, occasionally higher, occasionally lower.

• Buy Feature: If the player does not wish to wait to trigger free spins, they can use the buy feature and buy the spins for a calculated cost of 45x.

Because this is a highly volatile slot, the result will vary on whether it’s worth buying the free spins or not. In our experience it’s always a hit a miss, and it’s better to stay away from such features.

Verdict

Mega Magic Spell is an interesting slot, with nice graphics, cool animations and several jackpots with the Mega one being the max win of 5,000x.

The slot has however its flaws like a free spin feature that’s closely tied to landing one specific symbol in order to see some nice high prizes.

The randomly triggered jackpots are nice, but they are weighted towards the lower value ones so we only managed to get a few mini ones and nothing else.

Despite our experience, this slot has caught the public’s eye and is currently one of the most popular slots on Yukon Gold Casino, and is an Early Release, available for play there exclusively.
